Got the new ball joints in the passenger side after stripping the knuckle to bare metal and primered

but had to cut the axle shaft joint out of the shaft. Good time to quit...

That happens after 4 kids. Oh wait
This was on tear down. Ball joint was already up

Had issues reinstalling this side too. Even replacing the inner collar, had problem getting enough torque on it. Had to use 2 C clamps to squeeze the knuckle up to the C on the axle to get the lower to seat at 70 lb/ft

So I spent 2 hours from disassembly to reinstalled.

Is the adjuster stuck so that you couldn't get it out? Or what am I not understanding?

Had 1 1/2 threads below the knuckle. Couldn't get 70 lb/ft on it

I could not find the socket to set the inner collar, and made one out of a metric deep socket.

Sounds familiar. I swore I had one but couldn’t find it so I bought another last week. I was able to pop those threaded sleeves loose with a hammer and punch though. This just confirms that Dana 60’s are way cooler man.

I was trying not to think that. The D60 tax and the weigh do suck
