So been talking some with @6872xtc who donated a bunch of old driveshafts, and @ktmoutfront doing some maths. This is the trajectory of the pinion and the driveshaft through their arcs. Yes I have a 7* driveshaft angle. Plausible that I have ~2” of spline engagement at the point it hits the limit strap using a 6.5” spline (which I have for parts)

Never mind the chicken scratches. Made the original measurements with the limit strap length measurements on the truck. Decided to unbolt it and discovered I mathed incorrectly FA3F84CA-DFDD-4800-B0C0-738405F1A9EF.jpeg

So are you waiting for Will Hunting to come in and solve your math problem since you left it on the wall? :haha:

No :haha:

But I’m very much so in the area of needing slightly more spline. After trying to cycling the suspension in the garage, I decide to work smarter not harder

I was trying to figure out where you're going with this. Sounds like you're trying to make sure your driveshaft is long enough? Or has enough spline length?

Both yes. It’s really close given the parts I have

dumb homer simpson GIF

Me trying to figure out that picture.

Finished getting the back half of the case and seals in, got the intake turtle fitted and installed

Took my funny math and refigured how much clearance I was comfortable with. Ordered a new shaft identical to what was in it. Only not from a hokie ass driveshaft shop in Denver

Bills Englewood was who built the first one, using crappy parts and made it the wrong length. I had to cut 2.5” out of it to use it. So I didn’t feel bad sleeving it when I added the doubler
But the splines are trashed. I’ll keep it as a trail spare and just build another the same. If it dies in 10 years, I’ll make another

Just a 2 joint 1310 shaft, 10” slip

Do they charge you extra for being Weld County?
I’ve used most of the shops in Denver without issue, Scott uses the guys in Greeley

mine will fall off the brown truck, probably Monday

Charge extra for being a different county? Like a different tax rate or a separate fee? That sounds crazy.

It’s kind of a running joke around here. We’re in the neighboring county

Boulder County has a 50% tax on items with sugar such as pop and candy, and Weld county hands out concealed carry permits like it’s Halloween

They vote one way, and we don’t! I won’t even buy gas in boulder county

Englewood instead??

no, what I meant was I was trying to make a joke about instead of using a Denver shop using one in Englewood. I did not know there was a guy named Englewood with a shop, maybe I should have said Arvada or Littleton. I figured you had probably ordered one.
