The only Sm465 I've ever hated shifting is the one in my 91 K2500. The detent springs are extremely stiff.

Staying in gear isn't always a bad thing. It forces you to torque your way out of situations instead of downshifting.![]()

Yep yep.I still like the NV4500 better for shift quality and the extra gear.

some guys like to find them for the older trucks to make them shift better over the cast iron top style.
