You don’t have to explain your reasoning with me. That’s how I did mine too. Best part about it is... When you pull up to the pump you hand your kid your debit card and tell him/her to get out and fill it up.

I just pull up on whichever side is available. You should have made the filler neck with a tee so you could fill from either side.
 
My dd has the fill on the left, the K5 on the right. Once in every 4 fill ups I'll park the left side of the K5 next to the pump. I never figure it out until I've already hopped out of the darn truck too.

2nd thing that happens every so often is stomping down on an imaginary clutch pedal when I go to start the K5. The DD is a 5-speed and the old K5 I had was a 4-speed. Established habits are hard to change.

It had a TBI pump in the passenger side saddle

Have an ep381 for the rear tank
