I hope that 3/16” plate is heavy enough to take a strike without collapsing. But if it does...That extra inch might just save your tank/ sender. I like it.
The tanks Travis had on the k30 come to mindCan you imagine what that would weigh if it was made with 1/4"? There's a balance between bomb proof and practical I think. I figured the biggest thing a gas tank skid plate does is keep the tank from getting punctured. Dents suck but they are manageable. I've seen some pretty banged up tanks still getting rigs around on the trails.
