I had mine earlier when my tailgate strap broke causing me to bust my a$$ on the concrete.

If you wanna see some crazy advance, throw your timing light on it during a cold start. I did that with my ‘89 and it hits somewhere around 30 btdc if I remember right.0
It sets itself once you return the connection after setting the timing. Seems to run 12-18 by itself

Yeah it’s neat to watch. From what I’ve read, with the cold engine and fuel it takes more time to light off, so alot of advance is added. It’ll crank around 10 or so and once it fires it’ll jump way up and then watch it settle down as it warms up. I was studying it to help me make my base timing map for my megasquirt along time ago. That is crazy
I’m running mine at 12* initial and it has 36* total with the advance, seems to be a happy place. I’d like to try some fuel injection one of these days.Yeah does the low lead to start. Kinda neat to watch and mess with
@LNielson I was going to add that I ran 14* when it was carbureted

I'm running 13/36 like a usual sbc. Makes me wonder if that's making my Fitech not want to idleI’m running mine at 12* initial and it has 36* total with the advance, seems to be a happy place. I’d like to try some fuel injection one of these days.
No ignition control?I'm running 13/36 like a usual sbc. Makes me wonder if that's making my Fitech not want to idle
