Ahhh, Christmas movies must have made you crash early last night.

Sounds like a good plan, though. I think I’ll meet ya out in the garage today. :)

Yay for quadrabog.
Spoken like somebody that's never experienced a q-jet that works. I had one on my Nova for years and it was awesome. Good mileage and it tore the tires off when the secondaries opened up. I put a 4150 Holley on it and while it did pull harder it is a mechanical secondary double pumper and sucks fuel like I'm flushing the toilet after a bad night of Mexican food. Fun until it's time to fill up again.

Hell the q-jet I had on my old 75 was great too. Handled uphill/downhill/side hills way better than any Holley or edlebrock carb with the extra off road garbage they sell for them. Once dialed in they just work. I'm pretty sure Mark knows what he's doing as I've heard that small block spin those 37's leaving the supercruise with the carb still on it.

As much as I detest carbs I loved the quad on my 78 C30. 454/TH400 and it would haul ass, never should’ve sold that truck

Among carbs, the only one I ran was the qjet.
Now prefer efi but I got the best mileage and plenty of reliable power with the qjet

I had one, it hit hard and was crisp. Took me about a month to get it done.

So was the gasket leaking right there?
Yeah you can see the sharpie outlines. That has coolant scarring. Also lots of carbon inside the chambers

Engine had 1289-5 felpro on it. But I didn’t re tork them like I should have. Hope I didn’t fock the dog

Intake is back on. Gonna let it sit overnight

Heads were drilled for the okd style pattern. Will this actually fit these heads? May be a good change over when an open plenum goes on

I think it's going to be ok with it sealed back up. It's not running with a miss or anything, you just had a lower vacuum reading at idle than before. Re-torque it in the AM and re-evaluate.

Yes

But fuel injection
