So long story short

Swapped the intake gaskets. It started and ran. Vacuum was good. Dies. Back fires hard enough on the restart to blow the brake booster hose off.
It did run after that, with 14" vacuum now. But not very well. So it sneezed something out or who knows what

parked it in the driveway and now it won't start
So going to check stuff before it goes anywhere, since now it won't start. Pulled it in the garage and pulled the carb off

No LS, No Autos...

You don’t have any intake manifold bolts that are too long and hitting a pushrod right?

Nah

Have a sneaking suspicion that the bowl is leaking into the engine and the intake gasket got sneezed again

Vortec gasket design is shitty at best.

The heads are double drilled though

Gonna check compression on all cylinders and cam timing and start over

Damn dude, this new engine is not playing very nice. You haven't put the scare into it yet. Gotta work on your 'Gunny' attitude.

If I can help, let know. I don't have solid plans this weekend.
