You have one of the original turtles, interesting. They still sell them I believe. I myself have never been fond of gluing something inside the intake, I think I would rather weld something in and then shape it. An even better idea is to create a locking interface so you can swap out different shapes. Oh wait, that's what my patent is...:pimp:

I actually have an intake on the way from a pulling truck where they had built a dome of epoxy on the intake floor to shape it and then it came loose! So I am machining it for a Volcano so they can try different shapes.
Yeah this one will be welded in, presuming the old man can find it

You can get SBC turbo kits on ebay for less than $700. You should do that.
That kit doesn’t work on the D port vortec heads. Also not going that route now. If I do it will get an intercooler
Big block
You first. Ship has sailed, I’ll never recover what I have in this set up already

Just wanna squeeze out of it all it has

No surprise a single plane intake bumped the curves higher over a dual plane. But I totally get wanting the low end grunt back. Curious to see the turtle and hear how it works.

A turbski sounds good too.

Yeah I don’t feel like I’m giving up much or
anything vs a good LS plant. It was pulling the mm205-213 grade in 4th great until I got cut off. Yes I need the 3rd an a half gear, but this will work for now

Air the tires down to 8 pounds. Makes the ground to axle radius smaller, more torque.

Where is the link? I have a SBC in a CJ7 that needs one of these hahahaa!

I don't think that kit above cares about double D cup heads. It also has an intercooler. Next excuse?

Besides, what are you going to do with all those extra torques and horsepowers anyway?

Sum ting tells me not to trust that kit

I just need to stay ahead of the LS and BBC powered trucks :D

There are a couple ways to attack that problem.. You could go deeper on gear to stay in the higher torque curve. You could come down in tire size to get a better effective gear ratio with what you have.

Changing gears is probably out due to cost alone. Going to smaller tires is probably out because who actually does that?

I'd beat the dead horse about going big block too but I know that's an expense that isn't gonna happen on this truck. I'll set my bat in the corner..

Thought about a little 50 or 100 shot of giggle juice for the climbs? That would make it fun and interesting!:haha:

Problem with the gear change is it needs to be trans and axles to really be right. That’s a pretty good investment

And I’d have to go down to 33 or smaller to make up anything on the tire. And that ain’t happening!

And my only engine change option is still static. L29 with aluminum heads and a hyd roller. @skunked is testing the cam I wanted to use in his L29 now
