I missed the front snap ring on the output bearing. That's the bearing that takes most of the load. So without it anchored, it pushed back. My guess is the drive shaft cycling and the helical torque helped to drive it rearwardWhat was the problem the last time it was pushing the bearing out of the case?

inside joke.Bunch of trouble caused by that little snap ring. Now you know what happened, if the shaft looks ok and a new bearing slips on I bet you can run it just fine. I think that bearing cover is the same for the 205 and 203. If it is, I have 2 up here from some range boxes I pulled off 203's. The extra parts from the 203's all went in a box.
