The Crewbicon

How did Ian Johnson show up?

Ian bought my Willys wagon I was building.

You had a thread on the Willys on pirate, right ?
I remember seeing that before but with michelins on it I think. I'm doing a 53 for my dad right now so I've read most of the "non stock" builds that are out there :D

Very interested to see how the crew comes together, awesome work so far :waytogo:

Yes I did, yes it was on michelins and if you have any questions pm me.

And thanks.

Not getting as much done as fast as I would like but I did get the bed cut loose from the bumper and welded the ends back on along with some more work to the fender well.

Over the holidays I hit up some sales, black Friday sale at DIYx4 and Christmass sale at ORD.

I finished up welding the bed up and filling all the holes and built a frame for it.

Put it on the truck so that I can start mounting the bed to the frame.

looking at my photos I found this picture of when I was looking at beds.

And that has turned into this. a little over 700 pounds less.

 Excellent. Plus I'm sure it's a lot stronger structurally too. I doubt that commercially made bed could take a hit up against a tree or rock without getting damaged.

Thanks, I plan on mounting the bed frame this weekend and get the outside corners bolted on for some more protection, then Ican startworking on my new bumper idea.

I got some work done this weekend, for the first time ever I have all the body panels on and started welding the bed in place and put a little paint on to see if I like it.

Got some work done on the rear bumper, what you don't see was a lot of work.
