The Great Smaug

No but having rebuilt injectors myself in the past their description of the process sounds good and being in Florida I could always drive down a fix any problems face to face. The injection company I use The most is Mylex International 601-574-4211 not sure If they have yours or not.

Did you still wanna swap brush guards? I had the thought that we could cut the bumper mounts off and mail those to each other. Otherwise I'll be cutting mine apart to turn it into yours.

Well, I received my one lonely injector today. AC Delco, Made in USA. Inside the box is a bag that says Made in USA. Inside that is a shiny injector that says "BOSCH 902 INDIA."

With the other orders all canceling, I think that piecing together a set of new injectors just isn't going to happen. @Csm Davis, Mylex is cheap @ $25 apiece + core charge, but doesn't list the coarse-thread injectors in their catalog. I think I'll be putting in a reman order from Shopdiesel ($27 apiece). I used to think that the red block was neat, but that was before I started looking for injectors. :haha:

Spent more monies tonight on more shiny thingies. This is turning into an expensive hobby. As usual. :haha:

Any other gauges I should pick up while I have the dash apart? I'm thinking of adding a second stock volt meter to the clock position (this truck's clock makes enough noise that I don't plan on using it ever again). Volt meter for the deep cycle batteries I plan to put in the rear. But aesthetics aside, the stock gauge doesn't have enough precision to tell me what I want to know.

If I was keeping the auto I'd add tranny temp. If.

@GWeakland620, the rear springs from Kansas are here. But SDSpring has not sent any confirmation that my front springs have shipped yet (ordered at the same time). Some folks are just a whole lot faster than others.

It is amazing how money can immediately disappear when ordering, but getting it refunded can be slow, and getting stuff shipped or questions answered can be even slower.

General Spring is a great company. Met the owner when I picked mine up last year. Super nice guy, and very fast.

Unless you have already bought the dieselshop injectors I would call Mylex and ask, they have help me many times in the past with odd stuff, I have met the owner and the shop does diesel stuff for a major rebuilder that I can't name but the QC is awesome.

Noted. I will see what they can do.

My local diesel shop sells reman injectors by exchange, but will also rebuild your specific set. There's just a lead time.

Any shops near you willing to do that?

That's what I did last time. But I'm an hour's drive from the nearest shop. Mail order makes more sense now.

Plus, ordering ahead of time keeps me from getting into last minute scheduling issues. Turns out I have a 2-4 week wait for my harmonic balancer. Glad I found that out now before I tear into things.

I am a firm believer, that no matter the size or purpose of the build, they are never done. Even just a resto-mod. There's always something needing fixed or improved.

Not true. My K5 has been finished for quite some time. I just choose to do something different because I have nothing better to do. :screwy:

@AgDieseler, I'm looking at the water pump for a 2000 6.5TD and finding that it uses threads instead of bolt holes for the fan mount.

Looking through your thread, you still have the 4 bolts sticking through the pulley. Yet when we talked through this I thought you were running the later model high-flow pump.

I don't really care a lot about the higher flow rate (mine will never be pushed as hard as a 2000-era tow pig), but I'm curious as to how you got to have your cake and eat it too.

:ears:

97-2000 pumps were rated at the higher 130gpm rather than the standard 87. Somewhere in 99/2000, they switched to the threaded hub, which just requires a different fan clutch. Look for the 97 or 98 pump, and that should have the 4 bolt flange. NAPA sells a rebuilt one that isn't marked HO, but you can just measure the impeller. The 130gpm is 4.25" across. Alternatively, you can go with the threaded hub and use a duramax fan (minor trimming of the blades might be needed) and clutch.

And those additional pulleys are for the second alternator, with the top one being a temp idler where the AC goes.

Keep at it. Serpentine is a great upgrade.

Thanks. I did not find this while searching earlier (no OEM part number listed).

Interesting that they're proud of using non-OEM nozzles for their rebuilds.
They say that they believe it is a better nozzle. They will be supplying my injectors for all my injector replacement.
