The Green Machine - parked

I'd do both. One goes through the fuel system, one goes through the air intake.

Does it feel like fuel pressure is lost before you go to start it? Fuel pressure regulator may be leaking down pressure after it sits cold

Any codes?

my 97 is running rough when it's cold and Russell brought up the spider conversion which is a common repair on these old vortec motors. It's sitting on my bench with a gasket kit ready for installation when I find time.

To test that, I fired it up, let it run a second, then shut it down and restarted it, same deal as before, hard starting.

No codes. Mine got the upgraded injector spider years ago so the problems associated with that are solved.

Ive had a few of these motors that did that, and i always assumed it needed a FPR. Worth testing/replacing. Think its pretty easy to swap out.

Removed a leaf from my front spring assembly, couldn't stand the stiff ride anymore. To say removing the third overload improved ride quality would be an understatement! It rides almost as well as the stock ifs did. I'm glad I didn't wait until the weather warmed to do that.

Good

got a picture?
was thinking about this truck yesterday actually :) Is it a daily driver now?

I forgot to take a pic, and yup, it's been my daily since I got it back on the road in September, put 8k miles on it since then too.

Cut up my front bumper a bit. Since I removed the extra leaf from the front the whole thing dropped about an inch, resulting in the wheels contacting the bumper while turning. 20 minutes with a cutting wheel and a flap disc it now looks like this:
