The Purple Camaro

Practicing stuffing the slicks behind the front seats? Betcha look like a monkey humping a door knob trying to get them back there. :haha:
Nah it’s not too bad. Flip the seat back forward and it mostly rolls in. Not too awful getting it out. Only one fits there, the other has to trunk it

I prefer boost over drugs, but I can see the allure. Hell a 150 shot would get me near enough to 675 hp and would likely be safe as can be. I'd rather see a 6-71 or 8-71 peaking through the hood, run maybe 10-12 psi (again pretty safe) and be closer to 750 hp.

One is a lot cheaper than the other, but one is also way cooler looking than the other...

I should get my shitbox running and driving first though.

The good the bad and the ugly

So, after 3 consecutive weeks of the track getting closed on Friday, I went Saturday. Good grief the waiting was awful. 2+ hour wait between each pass, that’s the ugly

Bad? Car didn’t ET that great
(Yes I lost. I refused to lift, wanted to see the 1/4 mph full through)
Car hooks so hard even at 14 psi, it doesn’t slip the tires. Combine that with my foot hitting the roll cage on the side step, I am limited to just popping the clutch at this point. The 60’ time is pretty soft, barely better than when the car ran 13.96 on a full 1/4 pass last fall
Launch rpm on this pass was “about” 3500, no 2 step yet
Shifting into 4th at 1100’, needs 4.88s or deeper

Good:
Car shifts well
Car will turn 6700, although that’s not what I was trying to do. Hit the pf4 rev limiter in the box. Oh and tried to run it through in 3rd once. Didn’t work
Tires are still good
It does MPH well. At 13.1, should expect 102 or so if it was geared right and launching well. Car gains approximately 22 mph from half track to the traps. That number is really good, especially against the unimpressive ET.

Next time I’ll run the air up to 16-18 and try 4000 launch, hopefully with the 2step

Next time I may power shift it

You are a better 60ft time to 12’s at elevation easy. The way it picks up speed beyond half track if you get out of the hole better the et will come down.

Sucks the track was that packed though.

Yeah I know it sucks the engine down pretty good when the tires don’t slip

Fishing story, but trust me it applies.
Guy shows up at the tournament weigh in with 3.x lb fish in the “spot fish” category. People laughed, (this is a big money event, $3.1M was the potential top prize), he said “I just want my official picture on the Big Rock pier”. The absolute best response I read to people hating on him: “At least this dude is out on the water fishing. You are sitting on a computer, not on the water. But I’ll bet you have a Salt Life sticker in your back window.” :rotfl: I seriously laughed my ass off when I read that. Moral of the story- day at the track is better than a day at work.:thumb:

I hear “the overweight fish in the seat is slowing the car down”

:haha:
