I was thinking some blue cloth would look good. Keep it hidden.
So my .02 about the bumper.
If you build it so the doors cannot open all the like in the picture when you were working on the inside. You will hate it. Biggest complaint about my old one.

the way it's laid out, they should open all the way just fine.
If you are putting it where you put it the picture in post 1831 they will hit long before they open all the way.
It almost has to attach on the side of the burb or fold down. Mine attached about there and would hit.

Hmm. Maybe I'll build the arm (and leave it long) and tire mount before I set the pivot point.
Separate note. Which day do we plan on have the little get together? Need to get my plans lined up.

Damn, that sleeping platform turned out great….BBQ looks good too!
last night we swapped out the compressor and recharged the system, she's blowing coooolllld! today i went to my parent's house and my dad helped me build a platform in the back. tomorrow i'll build something to support the front section of the platform when its folded forward, right now i've got a piece of wood holding it up. eventually i'll build some drawers for it. we also did some BBQin because dad was working on beef ribs and i know fumes will hate me for it...
as mentioned, bbq... dad was working on his beef rib recipe and trying a pork belly for the first time.

Tonight I added some simple stands to the front section of the platform. Just 3/4" pipe and floor flanges cut to length and threaded then hit with a coat of paint. When the platform is flipped back they unthread and ride right between the seat and the platform. I rolled around on it, it holds my 250lb ass just fine.

When i sleep in my rig, i often drive the front tires up on some boards, a curb, whatver.
Nothing hurts more than waking up sleeping downhill with a hangover.

Well in theory the platform would be level, so he could back into a spot and sleep with the head up hill.
But that was my question as if he sleeps towards the seat he could make the legs a wee bit taller so it has just a small natural incline to the head area.
