The "under destruction builds" supersize75k5 's driveway of despair and repair

How do you keep track of all the stuff you are into at one time... I need a head spinning smiley to add to this post.

I love to check out what you are up to...the buggy is the best.:waytogo:
Your toys and antics are way out there! :thumb:

And the Olds...I take it it`s your buddys?....That guy is lucky it doesn`t have cum all over it from guys looking at it!

It's like a second job:doah:

Buggy is jacked way up to make working under it nicer, this is not ride height.

Alternator charge wire and boot. All fine strand and 4 gauge. Along side it is the ignition switch wire and a boot on it to protect it from arcing out if I ever goof while crawling around or fixing something.

Adding in the new engine harness and fuse/ relay block.

Rear panel will be cut out and I need to weld on tabs. This way when I mangle it I can just make another.

Interior engine obd2 diagnostics displayed on the Samsung tablet with gps. This tablet will hold my music, do my off and on road navigation and also has a camera and a app to record and log data during my trips. The app for the obd2 is called torque, it used a blue tooth dongle that plugs into the adl plug.

Still lots to tidy up and I am waiting on the front hubs, bearing, brakes and such in the mail, should have that next week.

A lot left to tidy up but she did move under her own power.. Even if I only went a foot before slamming into park because of no brakes it was a nice ride!

Having two extra sets of skins cut on the water jet tomorrow, then lots to take to powercoat and paint :) now I am motivated so updates should be plenty!

Short list..need to make a rear harness, ordered 4 inch 32 led lights for the stop turn as well as a signal pulser to make the brakes flash a few times when I hit them then go solid.

The reverse lights are 13 led lights that will have a in line strobe box, the front rigid Dually d2's will also be able to strobe. I plan to race this in a fe of the dirt riot races next season so a solid amber and flashing blue will also be prebuilt into the harness.

The arb harness is getting ditched, so I will use the 40amp relay and circuit on my switch panel to control the solinoid and compressor.

-Sliding seat frame needs to be cleaned up and seat belts installed.
-interior lights need to be tapped and screwed in
-fuel cell needs a vent as does um..everything
-new 1410 front atlas yoke needs installed and a shaft built..250 wall 10 spline :)
-Tabs for front flood lights
-hood, back panel and cowl painted
-led rear light holes cut out
-fuel line and brake line tabs secured

Font axle needs the new wheel bearings, solid axle ind hubs, bony long inner spindle nylon inserts, solid axle brake brackets, calipers..ah the list grows as I type it:(

Then in two weeks it goes back so I can make the wiring harness for the stereo, amp and speakers.. Then more fab after that for storage and rear tire carrier.

What app are you using for off-road navigation? I've got a Samsung tablet you're giving me bad thoughts about. :)
I've done a little research on them but didn't see any navigation app that really stood out for off highway maps.

I havoc used it off road yet but back country navigator is the one I downloaded and will start with.

Damn progress is slow tonight.

O2bungs welded in

Radiator hoses on, but need a different one for the upper.

Engine comes to temp and behaves, so nice to press a button and it fires.

Went to toss rear pads on and the guy put the brake brackets up side down:doah: so it no can do...have to tear it all apart. Tomorrow night is sdhq's open house and I has me a lady friend for a date soo looks like this will have to wait a day or two. Almost got to idle around the block, almost:pimp:

Soooo today was fun :D

After chasing a leak I got the rear brakes working..that said..I was ready for a test drive:woot:

It went um.. Well I don't have the throttle pedal hooked up so I could only idle around. Made it to the end of the street and it shut off on me. Thankfully in front of my neigh hood mechanic buddy.

We did the usual, found it had spark then chased the fuel system till we discovered we had no rail pressure but the fuel pump and pre filter checked out. Turns out all the fuel was returning to the tank.

I had used a corvette fuel pressure regulator just like I did on the last buggy. Well it failed. No biggie I had ordered two so I had a spare already...swapped in the second one and it's junk too!

Bummer. I tried to buy the Chinese 15.00 version rather than the gm or napa one. Lesson learned I pinched off the return line with vice grips and idled on home:D

Little by little I'm getting closer to a 4wd test.

These bad boys came in today

New Yukon spicer style 35 spline hubs! Can't wait to try to be the first to break them!

Oh i have no doubt in my mind you will break them. The only thing is we will have to find a number that fits into the "shawn durability test". As an example for every day they are still in working condition for you, it will be 10 days for the other rock crawling guys, and 100 days for us sand sluts and mild trail wheelers  :D

Dump that POS corvette filter setup and use a real regulator and filter.

Get a aeromotive reg. mount it up by the engine, then run flow through rails. Also get a cheapo Napa filter adapter that accepts the 3343 10 micron filter. Install this between the pump and regulator.

This system is best used with a flooded suction setup out of the fuel cell and a bosch 044 pump.

I believe his front is welded or spooled so most likely because of that besides the "lets see if I can break these" factor :pimp:

I'm excited too:D idled it over to the gas station and the responces were quite fun. I gave up and just said yes to all the jeep questions.

Today I took it over to the awesome guys at phoenix rack and axle for a front shaft to be made out.

We changed out the flange for a 1410 forged yoke from northern drivetrain. It's machined for the atlas. Then we stuck a mock up in there and bottomed the suspension out, half inch to spare:pimp:

The shaft will be 250 wall, 1410, and ten spline beefy long slip stuff. I have loved the beefy and non cv shafts in my 07 so the kiss approach is what I wanted. For high speed if vibes are an issue I can unlock the hubs for street and trail use.

Also orderd up a shaft for the back up bogger. If all goes well november tenth I am taking the buggy, blazer and maaayyyube the 07 to the bogs:pimp:

Tomorrow is tidy up stuff, brakes on a lady friends car and maybe installing the new led tails in the buggy:D

Yay more progress.

Yesterday messed around with the buggy floors, it will need a lot of aluminum work and a new trans tunnel but I figure I will want to test this trans before I button it all back up in case it needs to come apart..

Can't find room for the heater, I hate the computer mount, the new harness just does not put it anywhere I want. So I hate to say it but I might be ordering another harness with longer leads to the PCM. Not happy about that but maybe that will make me put a ls motor in the blazer if I have a new harness sitting around.

Cut the hole for the air filter/ maf to come through but ended up doing it square for simplicity. I need to come up with a thick rubber flange that I can make two piece and cut a hole in the center not sure how but I'll come up with something maybe similar to the piece a k series has for the fire wall and steering column? just square and on a bigger scale.

The blazer got some steering hooked up, throttle cable and other junk and the leaky rim sealed up.

Now the fun part:D I've been pretty disinterested in the 07 and I put my name on the waiting list for a full custom trans build but the mud bogs and the state fair tuff truck event both happen before I'll receive :( the state fair tuff truck event is the first..

Well I decided I want to go, even if I just put a stocker mild one back in. I dug through my dead trans pile for the trans I broke the intermediate shaft in and then pulled dead trans number 14 out of the truck tonight "in less than 20 minutes with me and my Indian I might add" :thumb:

Truck is cleaned up, 44" TSL's look smaller than the buggys 42's!

20121029_181213.jpg

Tomorrow I'll have him drop them off and I should have one or two transmissions waiting for me end of the day Wednesday. I also decided to enter tuff truck this year, if I get in I'll toss some timea cage and some money at the truck. Over all my interest has dropped in the truck so I am really hoping this trans can just get me by for a couple weeks. I'm to the point that I could move on from it but would like to try to get my interest back.

We also pulled the trans and t case from the samuri.. Sadly I broke the t case along with roasting the clutch after I could not get it in 4low. Bummer..turns out the t case and it rotating was the reason :doah:. Broke 3 of the bolts on one side. So I'll need to address that but I have a spare case here from a Sami I parted out last year with bad gears so somehow that all worked out:pimp:

The buggys tsil lights came in too. 32 4 inch led clear lens, 19 led 2 inch back ups. I also orderd in line strobes to put on the front rigid duallys and these 2 inch LEDs. Those will fired off my switch panel that is already ready for it.

20121026_165603.jpg

Not excited to make the panel but will get on that asap. The tail lights I ordered a pulser, it flashed them quickly several times when you first hit the brakes then they go solid. I put a brake switch that in inline on the hard line to work it. I may mak a brake switch or pulse modual bypass so I don't make my friends go into seizures on the trail though:popcorn:

And lastly in my circus of 5 projects at once.. I got the Cognito arms, fancy ball joints and some tie rod sleeves for the duramax. I wanted to do a solid axle but I just don't have the time and I don't want the truck down during wheeling season when I need it to tow.

20121026_165521.jpg

Between work, social life and trying to kill all these projects I am full speed ahead right now and going crazy! Sitting in the buggy though watching YouTube vids Is pretty motivating though :)

Daaaayyyuuuuummm! You have a lot of awesome stuff going on, I don't even know what to say.

Finally had a day to take the buggy down and play at my buddies body shop.

More pics in a bit. Changed the color from arrival blue to 2001 Subaru wrx blue, matched the powdercoat better.

Cleaned all the bare aluminum, sanded to 400, sprayed on a sealer, Mixed the paint step by step trying not to goof up $$$$$..couple coats of paint, few coats of clear with time to flash in between.

Bummer is I went through all of one of the blue toners I need so the hood will have to wait till next week.

72oz of ready to spray product I went through not counting the clear..yikes.
