Bent up a little piece of strap I had
And got drums apart and seals at rock hard and the forward drum that had the snap ring off had a few small nicks in it

Do you have a piston seal installation tool?
I've used a 2l bottle cut in a half circle shape before, works well

the book does not have torque specs at least i have not found them
what do you torque cener support bolt to?
I know the valve body is only 25 ft lbs
what do you torque the pump bolts to?

Here you go, torque specs from an ATSG manual.

There is a trick where you slide the pump gears together, then lay them on a smooth surface. If you can drag the outer gear with the inner gear, supposedly they are not too worn. You also check the side clearance with feeler gauges.

You are supposed to preload the center support one direction when you torque the bolt, I forgot which direction, I'd have to look it up.

i have seen the pic with a screw driver and wratchet tightening it but looked weird

Parts are on order, was told by the mechanic here that i was on the right track for getting it going
and that was a relief

for those that have done this is there supposed to be a snap ring on the big band in the botum of the case?
just above it?

Some trans have a center support to case "fretting" ring, but there should not be a snap ring against the rear band if that is where it was.

I believe that was installed wrong, but it's been many years.
