What do you guys think?

honestly, at first I was bit put off by the drivetrain... being I wasn't gonna go for the dodge, I went back to my original line of thinking, BB chevy.. mileage isn't a huge concern for me with the lack of miles I put on these days... but I'm more and more liking the idea of the 6 and 3 spd... keep me under control... I have very fond memories of all the 3 spd manuals I owned way back in the day...

Let me know if you find a source for the floor shift. I have a 3 on the tree i would like to convert.

I believe R10 is the truck style in the weired years. I may be wrong. But I think for a year or two they mixed the codes. So, that truck should be a C10 but the later years would be a R1500. If it was a 4x4 it would be a k10 or v1500. So i THINK that transition year they mixed the numbers making it an R10 instead of the earlier C10 or later R1500.

Also, I'm afraid the install kit is the arms and everything. Again, could be wrong but that's the impression I'm under.

Now you are talking my language...I love the looks of that truck...but I am a stock nut...I'm partial to column shifters now because of my lower back...
Hope that one works out for you...nothing wrong with a 6 cylinder...in fact, I'd enjoy seeing you restore a stock one on a thread...

it wont be a stock resto per se... mostly... I'll clean it up, maybe do some resto to areas as they need attention.. I'll more than likely change out the rims at some point, as I'm not huge on hubcaps... probably a set of rallies.. too bad I got rid of a clean set a few yrs back... not a big bench fan either, so some junkyard buckets may be in it's future too..

I don't like bench seats either...except when I was 18...a little armour all and a sharp right turn and the hottie in the right seat was all cozied up to you...:haha:

I do like the hubcap look for some reason though...almost nobody is using it...

eh, you'd be surprised, quite a few guys in here dig em... it's ok, I just love rallies, I've run em on all kinds of chevy's over the yrs... my bud stopped by yesterday and donated a bunch of stereo equipment for it if need be...

eh, truck wasn't as clean as I wanted.. plus it needed a windshield and some exhaust work.. so I didn't pull the trigger...

on with the search....

Good job on walking away! I'm the worst at looking over the bad stuff and just fooling myself into thinking something is what I want.

nah, me too actually... I wanted to like it, i really did... for a grand it probably would have been a decent deal.. ran ok, shifter was a little hinky going into first... the windshield and exhaust turned me off a bit... not horrible rust, but it needed cab corners and wheel wells... surprisingly, other than a good size dent on the pass qrter, the fenders and bed where in excellent shape.. the dashpad had eleventy hundred cracks... it also didn't have any apparent work done to it in a long time, so it may have been ripe for some bs like rad, shocks, brakes, etc....

if it was a 350tbi and sm465, I probably would have jumped on it, even with the window and exhaust...

the square bodies are tough... LOTS of hokey rigs on CL and people wanting too much money for crap....

I'd love to find a reasonable CC dually with a BB in the 3 g range... but it's hard finding stuff in our era that isn't hacked to he!! by idiot PO's.......

Hell with all this down time, why not make a cross country trip and pick something up from somewhere else? Could be worth it. I bet you could get something for around 2000 that will be rust free somewhere. Fly out and be home for less then 3k in a near perfect truck. Not doable in your current condition?

EDIT: For example,

not a bad deal at it's current price... i'd consider it at it's current price, and a grand to ship.. but I'm sure it'll go up...
