The funny part about that is John was telling me Kelly liked the big balloon tires with huge lugs.

That summs up how her opinion on the radials was actually put across to me

Cut, clean-up and test fit.

Once they are welded, a little wire wheel work to clean off any spatter etc.
Painted Gloss Black once cooled down.
Tires and Inner Air, bead-locks to be installed tomorrow if time permits.
Hope you guys don't mind the Dodge getting updates before the Suburban.

Awesome John!! I tried finishing mounting the old 42's today. Have a pinhole leak on the inner beadlock ring. Gotta pull it back apart and weld it up.

Update on Wheels and beadlock install
I'll provide a little extra detail on the install for anyone interested in the Inner Air Beadlock units.
They can be a little tricky to install but there are a couple hints to make it go pretty smooth.
1st thing I had to do was make a nylon part to allow my Rapid Air Down Valves to still function once the internal beadlock tube was in place.
On my Suburban I had to air down the beadlock tube to be able to air-down the tire because the tube created a seal against the inside of the valve stem

The 1st time I installed these was a learning curve.
The manufacturer supplies a bag of talcum powder but I found some liquid soap made the job much much easier with no cursing
Once the 1st bead is slipped over I prop the tire up on a couple 6" spacers

1st lip of the containment sleeve goes on, then the inner tube valve stem, then the hardest part is getting the little tube over the edge of the rim.
Once that's in the 2nd edge of the sleeve can be fitted.
The tire install is the easy part.

Once the tire is on with the beadlock unit installed I air-up the beadlock to seat the tire and use a deadblow hammer to persuade the bead to seat evenly as it fills.

I think they will look awesome and should be great on the highway compared to the bias ply's we've run for years.
