Zimmer's Fatboy power tour. 6/1/15...Now touring NC

I hear that Ray, I don't think my back could take the pounding a hardtail would give for a couple thousand miles...hurts to think about it.

Damn you guys and your bikes.

Starting to want one again.

Then there was the little hottie riding the naked the other day...

No clue what it was other than some kind of naked. Twin pipes, big back tire. She was rather crouched over. Helmet, brown leather jacket, black yoga pants:woot:, and brown girlie boots.

Bike had a nice rumble. She had a nice ass.

I can tell I'm going to be a great "dirty old man"

all I saw was "..a girl riding naked...":haha::haha:

I can't say much.

I nearly drove the U-haul truck I was driving into the curb.

Dam, I know what you mean AJ...I've practically done the same at Silver Lake...lots of skin running around up there!

I so wish I could get to HI sometime in my life...just need to make it happen somehow.:waytogo:

Got a month and a half to pay for just airfare/food if you want:D We have a nice comfy spare bedroom. 'Bout 10 minute stroll to Kailua beach...

what a dream, and much appreciate the offer too....sadly my commitments and finances are unable to allow that to happen anytime soon.
I will make it someday though.

It was super short notice anyways, figured it wouldn't work for anyone with a real job, but I had to offer:thumb:

When you come out try to not stay in Waikiki...it sucks there. Also, aside from a couple things that you can see in 2-3 days, Oahu blows. Go to one of the other islands to get a better experience:waytogo:

I got the mechanical's finished up today...I had a new tire put on and wheel bearings greased and new rear axle seals, and had my HD guy check out the Vaccum Operated Electrical Switch, which controls the timing somewhat. I've had a sluggishness to the engine which is intermittent and I have'nt been able to figure out the reason why.
I also leaned the carb out some, and replaced the fuel enrichment cable and valve, changed the fork oil, and put in a new battery. Have to replace a few minor items, then I'm going to put the tins back on and ride it...Paint will have to wait til I can find a few good weeks of open time to work on it.

I always liked the look of no front fender on a HD...I know it would suck to ride like that, but it looks cool. :D

I don't know that it would really Max...maybe in the rain, but otherwise I dont' see a big issue with it????

I do like the paint to flow out from the front to rear though, so it'll be going back on...only takes 4 bolts to hold it on!

Hey Dave, the rubber plug on your VOES comes out, there's a screw in there to fine tune the timing....mainly for hi performance motors, but sometimes they come a little off from the factory as I recall...

p.s., no fender in the rain DOES suck...badly :whistle::doah:

thats good to know Ray...I knew it affected the timing but wasn't sure how...here is my situation...while cruising 55-75mph (maybe more I don't go much faster than 80) but while cruising and rolling into the throttle heavy to pass or whatever, usually it goes great, nice acceleration, expected performance...sometimes under the same conditions, and maybe only a few minutes later on the same ride, it will feel like it is sluggish, like its retarded on timing...so is the VOES switch something that would be a sporadically ill functioning unit?

It's been a long time since I messed with one Dave, It's basically a switch. I would think it would either be good or bad...but I'm not sure.

You may want to check the ground on it and the rubber house connecting it to the vacuum source...

I forgot what year yours is. If it has compliance fittings (they connect the intake manifold to the head) they are known for cracking and sucking air. If so, replace it with a solid manifold. It has a rubber ring and slip fits in the head. :waytogo:
