1968 C10 DD, project "New Tricks"

nope, they just used air cleaner hats
so in order to get fresh air, I gotta drill somewhere :(

Not sure how I missed this one! Oh man I love this truck and I've only scanned through a few pages of the build! My dad has a 72 that he mentioned selling me... Uuuuuuugggggghhhhh I think my wife is going to be mad at me soon.

I'd punch a hole in the radiator support. Set it up like a factory 80's air intake with the little air intake baffle. Did that on Big Ugly (using the existing knock out) and even the 6.2L diesel immediately had more power.

So if you aren't using the factory hole for the blower fan, why can't you use that and avoid drilling completely?

You won't be able to use your kick panel vents without hearing the intake air.
I would assume that it would be worse on the passenger side.

I will probably go that route and seal off the inside opening, which I had planned to do anyway. It will just suck from the cowl area since I removed the flapper.

Did you sell all of the parts for that flapper? It had factory A/C, right?
I would be interested in buying some stuff at BB16.

Something like this. Pull the cover off and center punch. Drill 4.25" hole, so I can put some rubber around the hole. Then figure out what combination of pieces I'm going to need to connect the two. It will more than likely need a mount near the hood hinge.

Here is the swaybar problem.
For simplification, I set the driver side bolt straight up and down. You can see the passenger side is slanted. This is because the bar is wider than the holes in the LCRs. Also, the mounting surface where the bushing rides is at an angle. The slanted bolt is actually sitting on the surface really well, so you can see if the bar was above the LCR like it's supposed to be, the link would be even MORE inside the the bar. This is why the bolts were bent when I took them off and why the arms have much less movement with the bar attached. :( Need to bend the arms of the bar in about 1-1.25" per side.

The place that has made hoses for me in the past, along with supplied all my crazy ideas with adapters and fittings, can also make me some custom AC hoses with fittings. The ones I currently have don't look very slick, plus are not serviceable with the way I have my AC compressor clocked. So I either clock it differently or change lines. I like the way it's clocked, sooooooo.

I'm that close to having AC and have been for a while. Sure would have been nice for my drive today. Drove about 180 miles round trip today. Early morning was really nice, good temps, cruising down the highway at 70 with CC on :D and windows down. Cruised around the coast a little. (haven't seen and smelled the ocean in a while)

Then driving home brought the suck cause it was HOT. lol
But check me out.... Had breakfast with ChrisP, shot some pictures, bought springs from another member Jeff I think it was, drove over to see Rob in the hospital, then over to see Irish, then home. That's 180 miles round trip and 4 CK5 members :D
