I happen to know where there is a '72 chebby pickup cab with clutch like cab parts. Not saying i want to part with them but maybe....
haha as "cool" as it would be to go full tranny, I'm sticking with the 700r4. No time to move crossmembers, add pedals, modify drivelines and make it to bash.
You could go half man tranny and just get your junk converted to manual valve body.
I know, maybe in a different truck.
If the Jimmy was a more dedicated trail rig I might, but since it sees a lot of street too its going to stay just regular auto.
Good news, trans was dropped off and should have word early next week.
Called about the trans and thought I was just getting the diagnosis but no, he had already torn it down and replaced the front pump and housing. Had it sitting read for me to pick up. Apparently the front pump shattered from too much play or vibration and he wants me to check the clearance between the flex plate and the torque converter.
While the trans was out I had the @the_blaze take my drive shaft in to get looked over and rebuilt as well.
Should be able to get things back together over the next few days.

5th one is the charm I think haha.
When the converter is all the way engaged to the pump, you should be able to rotate the converter by hand without it touching the flex plate
