I chose the 400hp Fitech because of price and not sure ill be staying with my small block long term. So far it has performed admirably and I'm sure you would be very happy with it.
That being said, if you can get the 600 kit with the extra features and timing control, why not?

ya the 400 hp doesnt do timing control but i already had msd box so wasn't worried.
just when you install FOLLOW DIRECTIONS and you will do fine.
check power for constant hot in crank and on. make a ground for the body of the unit to where you ground the batterey

MSD box has nothing to do with it nor does it have the timing features FiTech does.

I have the 600hp kit (sitting on the shelf) it has timing control but I don't think I'm going to use that feature. I might but who knows.
My friend has a 400 kit on his built 350 and loves it

Not a Fuel Command Center....

Likely a frame mounted pump.

I do have a 40 gallon burb tank sitting, but short box...

There's another member that had problems pulling fuel through the stock sending unit. Could have been another issue but it's worth mentioning.

I still prefer the EFI tank/in tank pump setup over the external inline pump.

I don't know that one is better than the other, Holley Sniper vs FiTech. Here are the reasons I chose the Holley:
  1. I had read about some people switching from FiTech to Holley and liking the Holley a lot more. But I also take that with a grain of salt.
  2. I run the Windstar 2 fan setup and the Holley controls 2 fans where the same price FiTech only will do 1.
  3. I was able to get the Holley with a $65 discount.
I don't have any regrets do far. The throttle response of the Sniper is just like TBI and much better than the carb I ran on the K5.

I just set up the timing control recently. I've just scratched the surface but it does seem to improve the performance. It's neat to be able to make timing changes on the handheld. With the software you can modify the curves and what not.

The beauty of it is you really don't have to do any of that meddling because it's self learning. I'm not sure you can go wrong with either choice.

I would agree with what @mrk5 has said above when comparing the two. I think they've both proven to be good systems it just irks the shit out of me that it took FiTech to kick Holley in the nuts to produce a cheaper option (same with FAST). I had a direct port $3500 system from Holley that was a complete POS. Holley technical support was not helpful and rude through the process so they'll never get my $. That car now has FiTech on it.......

PS- I have both my fans trigger off one signal on my truck, the others I've used FiTech on had stand alone Be Cool or Ron Davis setups.

Should be good. I am going with an inline pump supplied by fitech to start with. I have a feeling that this truck will evolve down the road and many of the ideas floating in my head would require some type of tank relocation. Not having a firm plan, however, tells me just put the inline for now, and once I have a good plan, find a tank and internal pump to put in...

make sure you get both the pre and post pump filters. The fuel pump wiring is pretty easy because you don't need to run a relay.

Both of my trucks will already do a burnout...
