At the buy in price for mega squirt to build the ecm and everything, the Holley starts looking more appealing
At that rate, the LS swap starts looking possible if you do your own harness. Just saying...

Still don’t want an orange wheezy 5.3 that you need to wind the piss out of

Just saying
Oh you tend to get over the rpms when your tach is wrong to start with. If its the difference between climbing a pass in 3rd at 55 or 2nd at 45 at an even higher rpm you just put the pedal down and go. The engine is so easy to rev with full roller valvetrain it's not hard to keep it wound up.

You ever hold that LS to the floor until it goes silent?

Not yet. But 2nd gear downshifts at 55mph while climbing will get you close to it I've found. After doing that once on the trip I didn't dig to 2nd until it dropped to 45 mph. Funny thing is if the road allowed pulling at 75mph the rpm's were up high enough in the torque band that it could pull grade in 3rd without taking it beyond 4000 rpm. I figured in 3rd it's taching out at 3500 to 3800. Based on my gearing at least.

I got the springs and axle all bolted in tight, got the drag link reinstalled. Had to run across town (unrelated) and when I got back I realized just how tired I really am when I fell asleep in the garage. Called it for the day and came inside and took a real nap...

Did ya fall asleep under the truck?

I’ve done that before

Made some new front upper shock mounts with a second set of ford towers I had sitting around. The 60's shock mounts are higher in relation to the axle centerline than the 10 bolt... shocks reinstalled.

Pulled out the mystery flange ( @Bent77 @mrk5 ) that I bought from @skunked last year... should move the double cardon closer to the T-case and prevent up travel from snapping the 205 off of the mount...

That was the driveshaft available compression with the old flange on the t-case at ride height.

This is the available compression now...
