The gold bracket in the picture is the one that I bought from TCI auto to allow the use of the 700R4 behind a Quadrajet 350. The open port directly beneath that bracket is supposed to accept the 3 way screw in nipple setup sitting beneath the port. Currently my hold up only because I didn't have the brass laying around to make everything clear.

Just need 1 street elbow. Screw that barbed contraption into it

Yeah, just gotta get one. I dug through all of my brass for a good 5 minutes (I don't have that much) trying to get something to work. No dice.

What all comes off that fitting? Seems like a lot, usually run vac adv off the carb

Had the vacuum support for the climate controls ( factory A/C truck), cruise control feed, and vacuum modulator for the TH350.

Planning on retaining 2 ports, one for the climate controls, and one for a vacuum canister that I stole from that donor Suburban.

Actually found time today to get some stuff done. Doesn't sound like much, I know, but I was able to mount up the serpentine belt setup. Bent up a different hard line for the fuel pump to carburetor. I got a new harmonic balancer but it is clearly wrong, or improperly built, as I have the engine at TDC, but the timing line is probably 40+ degrees off. I have another coming in tomorrow, we'll see if it is assembled the same.

There's 2 balancer's for sbc's. The timing marks are the only difference I know of between them, but 40deg sounds like a ton more than would be on that difference. Thought the 2 were only like 20deg off.

Well this is a new unit from Napa, I get nearly all of my stuff from them because I fell like they have the best quality between the major parts houses, and I get a discount with them, so it is a win-win. Nobody is perfect though, I'm thinking that the outer portion wasn't put in the correct spot in relation to the center hub during assembly.

The one I had was assembled wrong, but it was also still wrong. My parts guy brought in two more that matched each other, but not the one first sold to me, or the one I needed. As it turns out, I did need the one that came off of the later motor. So I decided to use the one that I already had, but ordered a new one for the other engine for future use. Got the serp belt swap done, and installed my Dizzy and plugs/wires, cinched up the carb, ran all of my vacuum lines that are only attached to the engine, got the EGR valve installed.

Figured out my front shackle hangers today, well, at least I hope so. There may be a slight interference spring-frame interference once it is all said and done, may end up needing a shackle that is a 1/4"-1/2" longer. We'll see.

@bent72, I was going to stab the engine back in tonight, looks like I need to source a new passenger side exh manifold first.

That one cracked?

How much lift you shooting for on the front? Those shackles look long enough as is. Can you flip the FUSH? Looks like that will drop the pivot point down ~1"

Well, let's just say I needed heat, didn't have any, and it will be less work to get another than to pull the broken studs...

As for the FUSH, it is actually upside down now. I ordered the longer shackle option from DIY4X figuring that if all else fails, I could drill new holes and cut them shorter. Well after looking at everything, it seemed that if I flipped the FUSH over during relocation, I could get just enough clearance between the frame and spring under full compression, keep decent shackle angles, and not have to cut and drill 3/8 inch thick shackles. Now I just need to see if I measured right. It's gonna be close.

So for about 100 bucks for a gasket kit, 100 bucks for a pump, and maybe a 100 bucks on miscellaneous stuff, the other engine goes in... but with no VSS. Or I sell my 205 as it sits and pull another 241 and get a SYE. Which could be a wash, IDK. And I could bed mount the Suburban tank. No longer need a pump but maybe .... ish .... 50 bucks to mount the tank.

ORD will VSS your 205 rear yoke housing/ retainer.
