No go tonight...

Found some broken wires that I missed. Down near the starter, under the metal portion that is supposed to be the wiring's heat shield.

Tomorrow will be better.

That's ok. Hate seeing guys hurry stuff and malfunction themselves

Slow and easy

I pretty much knew it as soon as I tried to turn it over. Had nothing at all that required key on. Headlights worked, not a damn thing else.

Sucks knowing that the wiring broke sometime between pulling the TH350 out and right now. It is a positive in disguise, however, because that wire could have shorted or broke miles from home.

So what is the harm in removing the fusible links on starter side of the harmess?

You would have no protection from a large short circuit between there and the fuse box.

I'm good with that answer. Picked up a chunk of factory harness to tie into my existing one. Fusible links will remain.

Didn't get to touch my truck yesterday. My friend's 5.4 turd extraordinaire had a #4 cylinder misfire, and he just isn't up to fixing things on his own. He gladly assists me in my non automotive endeavors, so I help him fix his junk. It's a good trade. Tomorrow starts my vacation at work. Hopefully lots of updates this week.

Repaired my wiring today. Got everything hooked up and she runs again! Timing is in need of adjustment' got a few loose ends to address, and of course I still have to put the rest of the drivetrain back in, but she runs.

You work quickly!
I looked for electrical tape for over an hour once.....didn't find it.....
Did that today, except I gave up after 4-5 minutes, got a new roll, used it and promptly found my other roll.
