Did that today, except I gave up after 4-5 minutes, got a new roll, used it and promptly found my other roll.
Now you are bragging! I didn't have another roll and was too stupid to drive 5 miles each way for just that....

I guess it is helpful that my buddy with the 5.4 turd extraordinaire bring me rolls of it whenever I want...

Nothing major happened yesterday. I do have some family obligations while on my vacation, we took care of a bunch of those. Got a cup of coffee and a plan for today.

First thing will be cleaning up my garage.

Second will be putting tools back so I can find them.

Then I will be getting the rest of the drivetrain in. Transmission should be a piece of cake. Except for wiring for converter lockup. There was a thread in the garage about this that I will be visiting often. The T-case shouldn't be difficult either, but it will probably take a few times in and out. The spacer used to mate the 700R4 to the 205 mentions *possibly* having to trim the end of the tailshaft on the 700R4. I might be able to mate the two on the ground, but that gives it's own form of difficulties as well.

Quit yackin, do work
Yeah!!! Too much ck5 is a bad thing! Remember?!?!? :deal:

Jk man... Clean garage... Put tools away... Yeah that is a good idea. I waste a lot of time tripping over junk and looking for tools when it would take half that to stop and clean up a little. Family obligations are acceptable but forget that I said that because we most likely will give you a hard time about it but you are required to overlook it when we have our own family obligations. :D

So the 700 and the 205 are mounted. Tried test fitting a front driveshaft. Them pulled it out and ground away the stops. Haven't put it back in yet. Really want a doubler now. The driveshaft is really close to the trans pan. Like, really close. I don't think I will have any contact given the fact that I have those 48 inch Rough country springs in the front, but it makes me nervous. Still need to hook up shifters and TV cable, wiring for lockup, put the rear yoke in, pull the trans pan and put in the new filter, fill everything. Need to do brake hoses, shocks, buy a rear driveshaft, pinion angle shims, see if the e-brake cables are gonna work, and a bunch of stuff I can't think of at the moment.

Soon, I can feel it.

Have no ideas about the driveshafts clearance. How close is it?
Any auto guys have some input on this?

I had a th350/np205 and didn't have those concerns. Maybe it's a 700 issue?

Let's just say your new fangled high pinion would likely dent that pan during good compression

Definitely a 700 issue, or more specifically a 700 with a 205 issue. 208s and 241's are setup more like a 203 where the front output is pushed back from the trans pan

The th350 and the 700 are not the same underneath, the 700's pan is pushed closer to the passenger side

Nah, it wouldn't go flat and flatten the pan. It would punch a hole in it though

Would a drive flange be better?
