Good luck Justin. I'm bummed out that you're leaving the Denver area for obvious reasons, but I am from STL and my parents still live there. I visit every year. Maybe we can catch a beer together out there one day.
So how far west of St. Louis?
Far enough out that I can get some land but close enough to have multiple employment choices...
My folks live in Ballwin, but you would likely want to be further west than that. Wildwood is a nice town and you can still get some acreage. There's also a boom going on in St. Charles / St. Peters right now.
Driving through St. Louis tomorrow.
Well I'm not there at the moment...but in the not too distant future there will be a parking spot and a bed for any of your other travels...

That is what we do. 64 to the 57 south.
I can't remember if it was St Louis or Kansas City where several years ago we had to take and detour off the interstate and the detour when thru a cemetery. Looked like the largest funeral service in history going thru. I also remember an 18 wheeler that missed the alternate detour meant to be for them and the fun he was having making the turns.

Sounds like what I did a few years ago. I was born and raised in CO...and that state has gone so far downhill. Most of my family that's left there are looking to get out soon as well. I went the other direction to ID to do exactly what you're trying to do, and I couldn't be happier with our move. So much happier not being in CO. Good for you, and good luck!
