Sounds like what I did a few years ago. I was born and raised in CO...and that state has gone so far downhill. Most of my family that's left there are looking to get out soon as well. I went the other direction to ID to do exactly what you're trying to do, and I couldn't be happier with our move. So much happier not being in CO. Good for you, and good luck!
when I moved out of Colorado and back to IL,
I bought 2 acres with a pre-existing shop on it for 150k less then A standard ranch house in the Denver burbs.
I wanted a few more acres but to get that it was pushing the distance my wife would have to drive.
I have enough room for my garden, and a small orchard I've been planting.
I'm happy with it.

That’s close enough for a meet up! I’m about 5 hours west of St. Louis.
If I wasn't in a time crunch, I would've hit you up on my run out there in June. Gonna try and take my time heading back to Missouri once the house closes...

Technically I already have your address if I dig back far enough in my PM's...

But I figure I could probably drive around for 30 minutes and look for a bunch of 2wd trucks to find you.:D

I'm here... since the 9th technically.

New zip code is 63379.

Looks kike the closest member is @4x4blaze

Hope you are cool lol.

Maybe you could help me with Missouri "safety Inspections"...

The house we found (rental) was less than advertised in the cleanliness department.

We are working through it though.

50 minutes from where my parents are at. I'm actually in STL right now but flying back to Denver tomorrow. Hope you love it out here man.

Before I left Colorado I acquired a 2013 F150 FX4 EcoBoost and a 19 foot "Premier Ultra Lite by Bullet" Keystone travel trailer from my pops for a decent price. I immediately went to my uncle's place in Illinois and dropped the trailer off and grabbed my green truck. The transfer case is mad, it's puking a bunch of oil from the front output. Can't do anything about it for awhile, all tools are still in storage and I need a couple new tiny tires to get it into my new garage.

Oh it’s gonna throw a tantrum cuz it didn’t like moving?

Got the truck through Missouri Safety inspection a couple weeks back. Forgot to post about it. They have requirements that one would expect on any safety inspection such as good brakes, tires, steering joints and ball joints not worn out out, horn, good windshield etc. These inspections are required on anything that is over 10 yrs old or has over 150,000 miles. Then they have maximum bumper height laws...

It is supposed to be a fairly thorough once over.

Well in Missouri the vehicle inspection stations also do VIN verification and odometer verification.

I guess I made pretty good friends with the inspector while getting the VIN/OD checked on my 2 vehicles that are under 10 yrs old because when I brought the Green one down he basically filled out the paperwork and said "you brought this down with regular sized tires, your windshield wasn't cracked, and your horn worked".

I bought the place lunch and went on my merry way.

Every person I talked to said that I got really lucky, that these places don't let you slide on stuff. So I guess I was pretty lucky.

That's a win in my book!

I drove mine down to the inspection office, and they checked headlights and VIN. I was done in 7 min.

When we moved the 73 C10 to a company vehicle it was the insurance company that required the safety inspection.

What's the bumper height limit?
Bumper height regs depend on GVWR of the truck. Seeing as mine is originally a half ton, I get the least amount of wiggle room. I didn't take a picture of the requirements but I am too tall for a 1 ton. I believe the 1 ton requirements are 27 and 29 inches, front and rear. I am 29 and 28.5 front and rear

I'm glad IL doesn't have sort of vehicle inspection. I probably wouldn't have anything to drive. Lol
They might not have safety Inspections but the do have lift laws...

I parked my truck at my uncle's place for a month or so (he is down south in a little town called Marissa) and I was warned not to drive into town or the law would hassle me about being lifted. Well, I'm a smart ass so I did it anyway, hoping to get pulled over. My truck was still wearing CO plates so what were they gonna do?

Never encountered the law though, so it didn't matter.

Yes they do have lift laws. But me or any of my buddies with big trucks have never been bothered. Of course I'm north of the Mason Dixon line.
