Maybe you can get ojos with a plain ring?
Or keep a black sharpie in the door panel!
This is probably my game plan.

5 of those OJOS is around 2 grand, that is pretty much the top of my budget.

I do have a 35 12.50 17 that I have been toting around for a spare. I could steal that wheel for the spare 40 and get 4 beadlocks around 500 a piece.

I don't know jack about what's good or bad in the wheel game but these raceline wheels do look fancy.

To each his own but..

I regret getting my wheels powder coated black, the center piece disappears. If you buy nice wheels and want to see what you paid for I’d go with the silver/machine finish.

At some point, I want to recoat my wheels a medium silver or preferably white.

I double checked and my spare isn't a 17 like I thought.

So I ordered 5 of the OJOS.

Gonna learn how the mounting process works, looks easy enough, just takes time.

Pics will come

Big tires are easy to mount on beadlocks, I did my 40’s in my backyard.

Mix up some dawn and water but keep it thick, a thin watery mix will run off and not stick.

I put my wheels on the grass so they didn’t get scuffed up on my driveway. Lube the wheel and tire beads, sloppy! Pick the tire up and slam it down on the wheel, the inner bead will pop right on the wheel. Since you got beadlocks the outer bead doesn’t have to go on, it just lays on the rim flange then install the ring.

I did 3 graduated torque steps to get to the final amount but I had to do multiple rounds on each step because as the bead compresses the bolts you’ve already done will be loose. Repeat until they’re all consistent. Also, recheck them after a few days. See your instructions or company website for sequence/values.

Be careful not to over tighten the bolts as this can cause “coning” of the ring.

All beads aren’t the same thickness, my Boggers were a tick thin so my Trailready’s required spacers to prevent the coning. TR sells them so your company may also.

Ok long story.

The last time this truck was was registered was in 2022. I was able to sneak it through Missouri inspection the first couple of years that I was there because the the inspectors were fairly lenient. My truck should fail outright because the tires are cracking, windshield is cracked, horn doesn't work, and it is a couple inches too tall at the bottom of the bumper. Multiple inspection stations told me in 2023 that the state was cracking down and that they couldn't let my truck slide through anymore.

So it sat.

Before we came out here to Arizona, I was forced to register my F-150 one more time so when I got my new stickers for that I took the old ones off with a razor blade and stuck them on the green truck. It only bought me a couple months of "legality", but it was necessary because this truck has to sit on the street in a HOA subdivision until we buy our own place. Knowing that Arizona didn't have safety inspections, only emissions, I knew that getting it registered here wasn't going to be problematic, I just didn't want to have to do it immediately upon arrival.

So we got the ball rolling on transferring everything to Arizona and insurance was first on the list. My other cars were no issue, but for some reason the "regular" insurance everyone gets didn't want to insure the Chevy, they said too old. Not sure if that is an Arizona only thing or what, but I have never had this problem before. We asked around and people were saying Hagerty, and they happily took my money. OK good. One problem solved.

Next was emissions. I took my Ford up to the testing place first to try and see what I was going to be up against when I brought the Chevy. In Colorado (at least when I still lived there) anything older than 1982 didn't get a drive test on the rollers, only a stationary tail-pipe test. This mattered to me because they wouldn't put 38's on the rollers there, but in Arizona my truck would have to. I asked the guy about it while testing the Ford and he said "shouldn't be a problem". Another problem solved.

While figuring out what we needed for transferring our driver's licenses, I read that CDL holders only have 30 days upon establishing residency to get it done. We'll, we are approaching 4 weeks here, and while I could've lied a little, I decided to go get it done and not have to see what might happen if they realized it was more than that.

So we went and changed everything today. I hadn't taken the Chevy for emissions yet, but oh well, it could be done later. While talking to the lady, I accidentally showed her the Hagerty policy along with my other policy for the newer vehicles. See asked, and I responded "oh, sorry, that policy is for my 1979, but I don't have emissions done yet on that, it'll have to wait."

She said that I didn't need it. I said that everything I looked up said that I did. She said the Hagerty policy means collector vehicle and I don't have to get emissions with that. I quit trying to argue and said ok, let's register it too then. So we did.

Might not be remarkable to anyone else, but I looked high and low on the internet, asked A.I. about it, talked to my BIL who is a gearhead and everything said emissions required, even with collector plates and specialty insurance.

So I don't know, but I bought a 5 year tag. At least I won't have to worry about it for a while.

Hell yeah dude. I know that feeling and it is a great one.

I was so nervous getting the K30 registered in Weld County. When they said “OK, you’re good to go” I speed walked the F outta there and smiled all the way home.
