Some of the ledges in Kansas you drop off your tires and drop straight down onto your ass. A good skid is gonna be important, but keeping it high and tight will also help, as well as making it look less stupid. I figure 10 mins worth of work with the plasma I can swing that.
Actually thinking about it, I'm not even sure I'll get much more clearance, but I won't have to worry about the tank bouncing off the bed floor once it's finished in place

Nope
You may need to trim the bed so the filler hose can squeeze between the frame and the bed. The 1" pucks really help.....
Body lift is on my list. May end up happening sooner than later I guess. I also have new body mounts I need to put in.
Yep, I would order the pucks and do that now. It will make your tank swap a lot easier.
Truck is finally registered back in my name in Nebraska so that's a big step. Had to pay for three years since my buddy bought it from the buddy I sold it to, and never did anything with the paperwork, so the last date signed on the title was 2015, but now I'm good thru next August so that works out
probably still cheaper than one year in California.
Not a big update but an update. Finally got my tank to hang without any ratchet straps.

FYI- Lowes sells rolls of foam padding that works well for anti-squeak material. It's slightly wider than the straps and I believe it's intended for HVAC use.
I used very similar stuff.
I was going to go get some before I strap everything down the final time. Still more works to be done. Fore it's in for good. But I've been trying to steady work on it at night
You could have signed an affidavit that it was inop, and not had to pay the back taxes.

Yeah I found out afterwards that if I had said it was in the garage being worked on it would've been fine. But since I said driveway which was true, technically driveway is part of the road and you can be ticketed there so they fine you. Can't wait to leave town.
So if I use a vented gas cap should I not hook up the charcoal tank? If I run to the charcoal tank should I not use a vented cap?
One thing I'd like to avoid was when wheeling with the factory setup on a steep hill with a decently full tank I'd have gas running down out the cap. Very bad. I'd like to avoid that this go around. What do I need to do or change?

Most my trucks have been set up with a vented tank, and no canister. And they've never leaked.
