The shock bushings need to be facing front to back, not side to side. Otherwise they will bind when the axle flexes.

Is that all seperate parts assembled... Or is that just one big solid model?

Little of both, this isn't exactly cad but it's close enough. I was to lazy to rotate the shock bushings around so it's facing the correct way.

It is Z-Modeler. It is how Babaganoosh and I met....through a forum creating trucks for games. We would come up with stuff like this:

The trucks are split into different parts. Both of these have about 30 different parts that make up the entire model.

It was here, and I know. I was just to lazy to rotate it around but I fixed it now. :haha: XJ, I'm almost ashamed to be posting these pictures wow they look horrid... :doah: I'll send it over to you so you can laugh in a few mins

Basically a Suburban with a smaller rear door and shortened back end.
 
Alright, this is what I would really want to do... Not sure how much It would cost to do.

The engine cage portion would be on bushing so I could remove the center chunk to remove the engine if needed. The center chunk also incorporates dimple died holes
 
This is my first idea for the hoop/engine cage. Not sure if I need the 3rd leg on the hoops but I think it wouldn't hurt. I'm also thinking about in the middle of the hoops having the bump stop. I will probably do one big fish plate around the frame typing the hoops and bumps together.

I don't think I would trust the single bolt per leg the hoops come with. I think you had mentioned welding plates there instead. That's what I would do. I would weld something like a 3" plate with 3 mounting holes to each of the 2 legs. I think that would be sufficient with the cross brace over the engine. I think I will do something similar.
 
Yes the mounting tubes will be welded to a fish plate on each leg and welded around with at least 3 inches around.
 
I ran mine to the top of the frame. Double plated of course. Single bar above the engine. Then bar forward to core support and back into cab A hoop. Finally pulled the cross bar last September. Never new if it would come out. All it needed was a palm hit persuasion.
 
How well do you guys think my first design minus the 3rd leg would do? Eventually I want this to support a coil over.

I'm not sure how I'm going to do it but I'm going to retain the inner fenders....
 
Coil overs need to be under the hoop. Holding the truck up now. 3 to the frame and one over the engine required. Not just up and down forces at work. The top of the coil over will try to go any direction. So triangulated bracing is required.
