That's how I have mine with no circuit protection. It's a 4ga wire off a 150A alternator. Goes off the back of the alternator to the battery selector/isolator switch. It's on the output side of the switch since I have 2 batteries.
That's more of the range that I would use. But I like the manual reset breaker, no replacement part needed to get back in business.I’ve got a 200 Amp mega fuse in the main feed off of the battery in my 78 to the junction block that feeds the entire truck (minus the starter). Necessary probably not but nice knowing that it’s there.
