I can tell you that in my experience, as well as my son's, ditch the gov-loc. My son's experience with his D-max was more noticeable than mine, but we both prefer a Tru-trac for all around, (not rock crawling).
John's mildly tuned D-max is much better now that the gov-loc is gone. His turned into an intermittent spool.. :haha:

He mentioned it on FB, pretty funny. I’m not against the gov bomb it actually works rather well.
 
Diff cover back on, drilled and tapped the bottom hole so I have a 14b again. Had to upsize it to 3/8. It was oddly satisfying tapping the threads.

I started to get them installed but I think because I already have firewall panels they don't fit that great and need some trim work. It also doesn't help at one time in the trucks lifetime it was hit on the drivers side firewall area.



Started on the 2 link traction bar kit, I don't want to kill u joints and @Bent77 thinks it could be what caused the metal in the diff.
