A pressure washer.
Cool, thanks Mark. I think I will use that for the nitty gritty wire brush cleaning.Diesel
Maybe I can just bring all of this stuff to my local spray bay and clean it there...A pressure washer.

looking good on the tear down .
leave them upper king pins in and run them by the looks .
hope you marked the position l/r and clocked for them shims leaning against the spindles were they mate to the knuckle . those are a aftermarket shim used for alignment to bring the front end back in spec . if you didnt mark them then i would NOT put them back in as if you do not get them correct they will make it a lot worse if you get them wrong . someone did a lot of work to get them in there . most places wont do them or customer spend the money .
threw the race ? ? ?
you mean the replaceable tin cap ?
that gets replaced use it as a striking area do help drive out the race .LOL yep, sorry. Through the tin cap, not the race!
Take the pin out and hit it with a long punch through the top hole of the C.
It's just a bearing race. Do you have a race punch or are you using a flathead screwdriver? Lol

Anything you knicked, just deburr and shave any high spot and you will be fineTonight was a good night.
First off, you guys were right - the races came out without as much effort as I thought they would need. After my last post I hit 'em with PB Blaster and tonight they were very agreeable. Perhaps ten to fifteen smacks each and they were out.
So, I am officially done with demo on this axle. Happy to be able to say that. This means it is cleaning time. I have some old regular gasoline sitting in my garage, can I use that instead of diesel? Figured it would do the job okay but thought I would ask.
Also, I took some photos of my Cs on both driver side and passenger side. I knicked them in a few places and wanted to show you guys in case anything looks jacked. Most all of the damage is pretty small.
Here is a pic dump:
