3/4 Ton Swap is DONE: **d-shaft question**

ooo thats a Super finger lol actually dane cook is on comedy center right now. im only 19, just recently quit my job in contruction. and a 12 -15 hr day is common so STFU about long days.

soo since were talking about ****ty jobs....i leave for school at 630am and get home at 1030pm...ya it sucks ass but it fills my tanks and pays for parts...publix pays ****ty...:haha: :haha:

hell ya it does. i hate my job but like i said, me working to buy/build up my **** just makes it all the more valuable to me. sure mommy and daddy have helped me on teh big stuff (motor, tranny both blew...not completely my fault) long story....lol. But my truck means alot more to me that the rich kids bmw does to him...:wink1:

sorry bud...say a prayer or something because I don't have a choice...school starts monday...the guy is bringing the compressor tomorrow so maybe after church I can go get a deep 7/8" and borrow my buddies impact then head to Auto Zone or somewhere and get it taken care of...
Is that an Auto Zone type of part or what?

evidence of laziness...

i'm sorry, while church may be an important part of your life, it is NOT a life and death matter. nobody is going to damn you to hell for skipping church to fix your truck. kill someone due to your own negligence, and the big guy might say otherwise. what did you do the rest of the way? the compressor is also not necessary.

when i initially swapped the lowered hangers into the back of my C10 back in '00 i had ubolts on one side come loose and allow the axle to move around. this was in the middle of a 120 mi trip home from college. i had an adjustable wrench, the stock underhood jack, and a small 2 AA flashlight. i didnt seem to have any problems getting things apart and back together correctly at 2am along the side of the road, doing it in your driveway shouldnt be an issue at all. :deal:

Hey Avery, do you have dreams of a giant centering pin coming and beating you to death now?:haha::haha:

Hey Avery, are you still planning on changing the front diff this weekend?

I'm gonna keep this quote going til he gets it changed. What a lazy-ass focktard he is.

Avery it's Saturday morning are you out putting in that goddamn center pin yet, or are you still being a focking procrastinator?

No I just have balls so I don't lie to my fellow guys...that my friend takes some balls...especially with the crap you all have been throwing around...;)
It's easy being a pansy about it and lying to get people off of your back...

Ok guys and gals...I just came in and we fixed it...the camera is charging so I can pull the pics off and when it does I'll get them posted up for you all to see...
It sure made a hell of a difference though...Oh and I got a deep 7/8" socket so I was able to finally torque stuff down to spec...the u-bolts weren't tight enough before so that wasn't good...
Oooo and I got the compressor re-wired for 220 and got my fittings so I was able to use the impact on it all...NICE stuff...much better than before.

Ok, anyways I'll get pics up in a little bit once it charges...

The bottom two springs that aren't attached in the pack couldn't move side to side because the u-bolts are right there so the only way they could get out is if they came out the front and followed the curve of the springs above them...and this is all if for some reason it all magically came loose and the truck's weight wasn't on them...
Plus how is the axle going to shift if the spring perches are there? The u-bolts would have to come waaaaay off for that to happen.
I guess I just don't see how it's that big a deal since I didn't have them in there before and I NEVER had any problems.

Yeah...I was being a d*ck...you should see what the unbreakable almighty grade 2 carriage bolt looks like after I pulled it out...I'd say that I had another couple days before it completely sheared in two and I would have had instant 4ws going 80 down the freeway...no bueno. I'll snap a pic once it charges...

Ok here are some pics...it was VERY cold so I didn't take as many pics as I normally do (just wanted to get it done!)
It took quite a while to get it all pulled apart...get the new bolt in...line it up and get it put back together but I feel better knowing it's done right now...
So not only did I do that but I got the u-bolts torqued down to spec finally...I thought I had them close but they weren't...they were probably only at about 50lbs or so...YIKES! So I fixed those and I took care of the lug nuts (torqued).
