'71 K5 Blazer CST "Mean Green"

The hatch is in ok condition. Getting a little soft in the center by the latch. It's a double wall. Not sure if that's the better top or not.

Put all new light bulbs in the exterior and the passenger bezel on. Looks much better. Also put the wiper arms on, still needs new blades though.

Forgot I put a dimmer switch in as well. The old one was froze and wouldn't let the headlamps on. When I unplugged it from the connector it pulled the pins out of the switch.

From the git go, my blazer was missing the throttle cable bracket. It idled decent enough that in low it would putt around to where I needed. Funny thing was it wouldn't rev up at all when I ran the throttle under the hood. I just figured the carb was junk. So today I put a different qj I had on the shelf on the blazer and a cable bracket. Now it will rev a few hundred rpms but that's it. At wot it isn't even 2k. So I think I need a compression check, and possible tune up. It idles fine, starts right up, just won't rev. Never seen anything like it...

Update?

I think it's only running on like 3-4 cylinders. I have a hei on my parts shelf I'm going to put in it, to replace the points distributor. Grab some tune up parts at oreillys and see if it takes care of it. In the middle of head gaskets on an impala or it'd be done already.

Had a few minutes to mess with her, so I mounted a whip back on the old girl today. My uncle and cousin both have an old cobra cb they said I could have. I'll be getting one of them and mounting it in. Over and out....

Finally got the chance to put the blazer on the hoist today. Looked some things over. Have a front caliper sticking, so some new hoses and calipers will be coming. Pulled the back bumper off to replace it. Noticed the guy before me put new fuel lines on it along with the new tank. He used tank straps instead of bolting the tank to the frame. So I'll be fixing that as well. Nothing real exciting, but some forward progress.

I have an hei I'm going to replace the old points distributor with along with plugs, wires, cap, and rotor next week hopefully.

Everyone get their bumper bolts for LMC and such or do some parts stores carry them?
