Here are those pics.

Hopefully you can see the original mounting holes in the first pic.

so, if I'm seeing it right, the cardboard (or whatever) part goes just to the edge of the b-pillar, and then the fabric/plastic part goes over it?

The board will have to bend as it goes over that b-pillar, but that is how the factory did it too.

:usaflag:
oh, the board bends around. interesting... I'm not sure I like how that will look, but I'll play with it. thanks guys.

What kind of seats are those?
I've had them for a long time (just had them recovered recently), but as I recall I got them out of a ford minivan. mid-90s winstar maybe?

I was looking for something with a low back (so the passenger seat could tilt forward), but also had an armrest. I love armrests. :thumb:

made some progress on my blazer home/ man cave this weekend:

pretty sure I finally have a garage that the blazer will fit in. :pimp:

hopefully I'll get the roof and sides sheeted tomorrow. :thumb:

NICE!!!! I wish:rolleyes: One day I'll have a real garage. Sweet FJ too BTW:thumb:
wish I could take credit for the FJ, but its my buddy's. he was helping me build, so wanted to see what his truck would look like in the garage :pimp:.

making more garage progress. lights, roof, weather barrier and doors all done. pretty much done with the outside, other than siding... just in time for winter.

NICE! Looks like you are going about your garage bassacwards compared to most of us. You lifted your Blazer then built a door to get it in & out :waytogo:. I on the other hand lifted my Blazer then had to figure out how to get it out :doah:

lol, unfortunately, I did it the same way you guys did. had to build this garage once I realized I couldn't fit the blazer into the main one. :doah::rolleyes:

thanks man. its been a fun project to work on. not as hard as I thought, but certainly more time consuming.

Very nice Man. What are the plans for the interior? Insulate and rock?
yeah. I was going to leave the walls open for awhile, but because I'm near the property line the city made me turn some of the walls into fire walls, and that means they have to have the fire resistant sheetrock on them. I plan on leaving them untaped and unpainted though so that I can pull any of them off if I need to get into the wall for some reason.

I'll probably leave the ceiling unfinished. the only reason to finish it would be for heat retention. I'd prefer to have easy access to the rafters, and I really don't relish the idea of hanging the sheet rock up there.

I've had to do that several times, but they are making you do it on the interior? When we did it, the rock had to be on the exterior, behind the siding. It was pretty dumb though, fireproof the wall with 5/8's behind the siding and leave the soffit unprotected.

If it is on the interior, the inspector may require you to at least fire tape the board on those walls. Who knows though, I swear they change the codes every morning during their first cup of coffee. :doah:

I hope its on the interior... would suck to have that wrong, but the inspector has been out and has approved the framing and said I was fine to house wrap it, so I'm assuming I'm done outside. :dunno:

yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if he made me tape them, but I'm going to ignore it for now and see if I get away with it. afa the codes changing, yeah, he's already told me about a few that have changed just since I got my plans approved a few months ago, but he's not going to hold me to it, thank god.

luckily the guy seems pretty cool, and ever since he found out my electrician buddy and him share the same taste in music (death metal) he's been pretty easy-going. :woot:

/sigh you were right. just got done talking to the inspector. he wants rock on the outside of the walls as well.
just add another $400 to the cost. :doah:
