That's funny, wife just came out to the shop to put a few of her Yuppie beers in the shop fridge (we're having people over tonight - I have a perfect view of the fireworks from my back patio......work is gonna hurt tomorrow.....). Anyway, I was standing there looking at it and she says, "That's really nice, why are you staring at it?" My wife knows as much about cars (and cares about my Blazer) as much as I do snow blindness in cats, but still......funny that the first two people said leave it as is.......I'm sure I will get all kinds of input tonight.......friends just love to 'give tips.'
Oh, and more great news. Apparently wife set up some kind of slush fund account for vacations, and that paid for our DC/VA trip, meaning...........carb, intake, distributor, etc. - Fire When Ready! Now I just need the time (and patience) to sit at the computer and figure this all out......while I am at it, I may as well ask - any lessons learned regarding distributors that fit without banging the firewall? Hell, or if I should do some kinda MSD or whatever. Only reason that is even on my mind is hearing my buddy's '70 C10 start up.....one crank - it's roaring. Hell, if ANY of my vehicles started like that I'd be stoked.
Only advice I have is avoid all the msd stuff. Seems every post I read about I gnution trouble involves a bad MSD box.
HEI Distributor will fit without any clearance issue. That's funny, wife just came out to the shop to put a few of her Yuppie beers in the shop fridge (we're having people over tonight - I have a perfect view of the fireworks from my back patio......work is gonna hurt tomorrow.....). Nice work! Kind of hard to tell, do you have a plate on the outside of the frame behind the front spring hanger?Ran the windshield washer tubing, vacuum gauge line, oil pressure gauge line, tach wire, etc. through new rubber grommets. Finished up the steering - no more steering by manhandling the tires side to side! I could put the dash cluster in now, but I have a few questions for Painless before I close it up. Hopefully they are open tomorrow....I have to work, so maybe......I'd like to finish the dash on Tuesday.
I have to consult my accountant (wife) tonight to see if it's cool if I drop $12-1500 and get the intake, carb, distributor, peripherals.........I want that engine done!
