I know every freakin line in that movie... I thought it was so cool Wooderson had a T with Nuge, Tooth, Fang and Claw on it..... so obscure, great prop work.... i'm the only person I've ever known that owns that LP....

btw, I'm jealous..... I'd love to rock that Vette... it's a car I've never owned...

Trailer looks awesome Zim!

Also, that Vette looks fantastic! Great job, sounds good too. Go to the drag strip and make a run with that thing in the spring. Do you ever go to Milan?

Wooderson, the typical hs motorhead, we had a couple like him in my hs. One of em, his dad owned a repair shop, so in 73 he had an 11 second BB 68 Camaro. That was fast in the day.

Slater:
"Hey why don't I ever get shotgun man"
"Check ya later":haha::haha::haha:

Jealous Paul? I'm humbled....I would have liked to rock your Chevelle man. 60's Muscle is just too cool.
I owned a couple 66's way back, but 68-69 was an awesome body too.

Thanks Heath, I'm going to go for another breakin ride today...the rearend builder says to heat/cool the gears 5 times, about 20-30min each. Then drive easy for about 500 miles, and change the fluid....wow that'll be tough right there.
Haven't run the car at Milan, just Martin. I'd like to get over there next year with it though.

pizza cutters... :haha:

my fave line from that movie.... as Slater is popping acid at the water fountain...

"hey Slater-san, how's it going mang?"

"fixing to be alot better man!" :haha:

thanks on the Chevelle too... I regret not having it anymore almost daily... It was pretty nasty..... considering it wasn't tubbed...

and a serious, serious headturner.... people used to go gaga over it at the friday night car shows downtown...

5 times? When I put my rearend in my Regal a month ago all the instructions I read said two easy heat cycles at 10 miles a piece, then have it it. It did say don't do any heavy towing for 500 miles because of the heat. But I started beating the crap out of my new richmond gear on the 3rd ride, then took it to the track and entered the bracket race a week later. So far it's still quiet and worked fine when I put it in a barn for the winter on Saturday.

Let me know if you evey go to Milan next summer, I'll try and make it.

I would follow his instructions Dave, but after you go through the heat cycles a full throttle run is not really  a heavy load:D. Most important to go through the heat cycles. I would imagine everything is setup to the low side of the tolerances hence the reason for the 5 heat cycles

Just remember its best to let it totally cool down in between the heat cycles. Not just for a half hour or so, more like an hour and a half at least

:waytogo: I was driving up the driveway towards the road, a little ole lady in a Dodge Caliber or something goes by real slow, and does a double take looking at me:D

Yep, I got a lot a dough in this rearend, and I'll follow his instructions. He has been highly recommended in the Vette diff building, so I'm doing the 5 cycles, then probably change fluid after that, then again after 500 mi.

I'll try to make it to Milan Heath...you bracket race every weekend?

I've driven it twice now with about 20-30 minutes each at normal speeds and moderate throttle, put the temp gun on the rear diff housing when I got back, its only 120 or so. He suggested at least an hour between cycles....I let it cool down overnight.

Yeah I don't blame you, I did let mine cool overnight between both breakin runs too. But driving like a whimp for 500 miles seems kind of silly! :D I just wouldn't take off on a several hour trip.

No, I don't bracket race every weekend, my cousins race for a living, but I only go once or twice a year.

We'll have to hook up next year for a race, and an offroad.....
What night is test and tune?

Test and Tunes are Wed and Fri nights, also all day saturday (unless there is a large event). Sunday is T&T and bracket race. To be honest, the bracket race was only another $15 or something, and it was worth it, I got a lot more runs in, and it was much more fun when you add the competition into the mix. I was glad I did it even though I lost 3rd round.

By the way, I realized Sunday why the truck was not shifting into 2nd before 6K RPM when we were at Bundy, because there is no second gear! Before I even left that day it only had 1st and 3rd gear. I think I took the int sprag out, but I wont know for sure if it's that or int clutches until I tear it apart in about a month, I won't even have time to drop the pan until after deer season. And I have the 34 lement sprag, 4 INT clutches, and the HD snap ring. Go figure.

I built my T400 for the Iron Maiden identical to the T400 in the Vette (with those upgrades we talked about about 500 posts ago) except the valve body in the I.M. has engine braking. The Vette shifts very firm now. Not harsh under part throttle, but no slippage going on either. I'm expecting the same from the Iron Maiden. So far so happy with the Vette edition of the T400.

Man,i saw that thing in the back of a comic book.it was right next 2 the sea monkeys.haha.my fav movie next after goonies.ive never driven a vette.i miss my chevelle though.had 2 get only one project in the garage though.blazer had 2 stay.

Down for a trip to milan, then some wheeling. I'll bring the Z06 see what it can do. BTW how was bundy, and did you guys get pics?

Bundy was great Jess. I think Heath and myself enjoyed the new stomping grounds....I bashed a little more metal on the rockers, and we both blasted up Bundy. I like the pea gravel. I also like that it is only 75 mi. away.

Heath may have some pics of vids that they took.

In the meantime this looks like it could be a handful:

been working on getting the last couple things done to fire the engine.
Had to keep the battery from vibrating away while running so I threw this together:

Just took a piece of 14ga sheet, and welded that to a couple pieces of metal I had laying around, then took a pair of 14BFF bearing races to make locating retainers and welded them to the sheet metal. Its bolted to the cab support on the frame.

Me too Heath, now that winter has finally set in, I can stop making excuses to be outside, and not in the shop.

Would the large port above the oil filter be a good place to read oil pressure?

Good, we want to see/hear combustion! wuuubbbaaa!

yee haaa, yes we do. You got lots to do before April :D:D:D:D

If there is one thing that BB should have taught you the more time you have on your truck before you make a huge trip the better, even the best can't predict all the problems they will have

That's where I have mine.

You can also get it from any of those small pipe plugs that run along the oil pan rail just above the oil pan (except for the larger middle one which is the coolant drain)
