I don't think we need any paper plates for the pizza when we're there Dave, we can all just plop our pizza down right on the frame and eat off of it! Looks real nice.

Ive always felt that way, why blend in, how much fun is that???
:waytogo:
frame looks great and I like the color too!
I need to find corresponding colors for the components yet to go in...maybe an Iron grey color:whistle:

Well hopefully the frame will be covered by the body....and that is so far from clean it isn't funny. But I do have a clean tarp we could throw down on the rolling picnic table/workbench!:pimp:

Got the front axle prepped today and painted, need to hit the springs with a fresh coat of satin black, then put the front axle in....still need a nice day to get the rear axle blasted and painted before putting that back in too.

Ahh a nice day, I cant wait, it rained and thunderstormed all last night here. I do enjoy a good thunderstorm tho, washed all that stinky salt off the roads so I wont argue lol.

Yep, I was glad to see that too, now if tomorrow don't drop more snow we'll be good I hope...still it seems like we usually get that late Mar/early Apr. snowfall for one last shot from ole man winter.
Its like he's shakin' his pecker after a long piss...:haha:

Haha, yes. I hate that old man lol. I just start my truck in the morning and see that big exhasut plume, flip off the sky and say warm it up baby haha.

Yeah, we are getting a good shakin of the pecker over my way. LOL!

We got a foot of new snow in the last two days, and it`s still coming, atleast it`s warmer then it was. Yesterday I pulled out a super b grain truck in the yard, then a schoolbus down the road from us,and at quarter to ten I got a call from a guy that buys our bull calves...he`s got a Dodge with a 30' stock trailer filled with bull calves and he`s in the ditch 4 klms away from us. I pulled him out of the ditch and then 3 klms down the road till we got back to the pavement.

I hope everyone stays home today! Schools closed, so no buses to pull out today.

Sorry for the update on yesterdays fun for me... you old man winter coment got me going.:haha:

Your frame is looking so nice it will be a shame to cover it up!

Hate to break it to ya dave but were suposed to get Thunder ice tonight
did hear that too Jess, maybe some freezing rain (suck again) and a little snow mix, at least its thawed enough now it shouldn't be a problem on the road.

That's a good read there Max :D

And at this point I'll live the shiny through photos....I'll be glad to get the body back on.:waytogo:

Today I tried sandblasting outside, but its too humid the sand was plugging up in the blaster, and then it started raining, so that will be a couple days off. I got enough done to get the front axle under it again though. I put the steering box, frame reinforcment kit, and rear shackle flip brackets on, and painted some small parts.

Its been a while since we've had nakidity, and this is about as nekkid as it got:

Looks so clean Dave, it' finally starting to come together for the final time!

By the way, why don't you use the stamped king pin cap on the drivers side, so you didn't have that steering arm sticking out and the extra unsprung weight? It would look even better then.

got an extra one?....really the rebuilder put that back on, and I guess I never give it much thought....just overlooked it all this time, what a noob.

So I got a degree wedge under the springs right now, can I get a degree wedge/ez inch to move the axle forward, to help with inner fender/firewall clearance?

What happened to the one that was on the passenger side? I might have one, unless I threw it out, it was rusty and I was lazy and bought a new one for 8 bucks or something. But I don't have a sandblaster. Another option is to just use the stock arm, and cut the arm off, grind it smooth and paint it, then you're left with a cast iron cap. I'll look, if I still have it I'll bring it along, sandblast it, and it will be good as new.

As for the degree wedge, what's your caster angle? I would shoot for 5 - 8 degrees. Let the pinion angle fall where it may and you should be OK since you have a doubler, the extra length helps with the front angle.

With my 36s I just bent the inner fenderwell straight down and back, and then trimmed the fender, no firewall clearance issues for me. I think I still had at least an inch or so. Not sure where you start running into that problem, these guys will know.

I'll just cut that one off Heath....simple enough to do.
I think my old caps were in pretty bad shape.
We'll check the pinion angle and such when Eric gets here, and see what if anything needs to be changed, my concern is the tires rubbing the firewall/inner fenders, and if I can simply move the axle forward an inch to do it before driveshafts are made up.

If you want the diff forward without the EZ inch, or Zero rate...re-drill the perches and spring plates. I moved my D60 forward 1.25" that way and ran 39.5's with 5" of lift. Never had any issues with rubbing the firewall like that.

diggin that Rene' I'll check it out tomorrow.
Did you have crossover, and did it cause any issues with the factory crossmember?
