I actually thought the same thing after I had them all in and was looking everything over. This was my first rodeo on cage ties, I knew they were there to alow the body to come off. So I oriented them that way to lift it straight up. They should be fine though. Its better than having none at all, and with any luck he wont roll to need themAren't the cage tie ins supposed to the other way? It seems like your current setup is just a pivot
The front ones are the only ones that dont seem strong enough. but the shock hoops will be tied to the engine compartment bars right on the other side of the fire wall, so that should stiffen it all up and prevent the front ties from taking all the load.

Damn you guys go alot done! Nice to see this thing on all 4s![]()
Install JK steering shaft....build week The shaft I have is fully splined and I need a flat side shaft.
LOL seeing the list makes me feel like we didn't get nearly enough done.
I was really bummed about the rear of the cage but I think you guys are really going to like what we came up with there. Its going to have plenty of room even for a big guy in the back seat.
To anyone that is considering an S&W kit, in the Iron Maiden we used 2 bars in their original (the b pillar and the front halo) position. Its not a good cage if you are a big guy at all. If you are smaller than it would work fine but its definitely not for tall people.
Daves rig is going to be a great rig, very very solid where it needs to be. Suspension works out pretty dang good for just having superlift springs in the front.
Very cool rig for sure.
Now back to work Dave, I didn't get a break at all. Started working on that JK yesterday, doing gears and suspension today.
I think I may just go pass out now.
coulda had a new set of shocks for the rear, and some cash left over from that one.Dave, this is backwards, you need a splined shaft, you have the double flat shaft. Another option is to get a steering column with the double flat shaft out of a newer rig. My stock 83 column would match your XJ shaft.
