Bummer man, but you can get it back in. One time I was running late on a project, my first auto trans rebuild, because of a faulty part I received. Well, I got the correct part on Friday morning around 10 AM, at 11 AM I was jacking the trans up into my truck, and that night I took off for a 4 hour drive to silver lake to meet the family. Talk about hoping I did it right. I guess what I am saying is, even if your putting the trans back in the day you leave, you can still make it. And you have a trailer...

strap yourself to the trailer work on it on the drive out here

Dam, thats good Keith...:haha:

So dave I could be there around 7 on friday an work till early am if needed. Let me know.

Right now I'd say yeah Jess, come on, I'm sure even if things fall together without issue there will still be plenty to do. If you want to crash here for the night its not a problem either.

Hope you can get it sorted out Dave.

So close! Good Luck man!

Barring another major malfuction, I'll make it somehow Max!

Today, I made a few mods to the cradle support crossmember, resealed the 205 rear cover bolts (fluid was seeping out of the threads on a couple) eliminated 2 of the exhaust pipe supports to ease crossmember installation, and found the 2 gaskets I need for install of the doubler to the trans again.

Also got the rear seats installed, but need to fab seat belt mounting back there yet.
Also started on the brake system....which leads me to ask:

I'm using a Corvette M/C for 4 wheel discs, and it looks like the reservoirs are pretty much the same size...I know this m/c used the same calipers and discs on all 4 corners of a Vette, so does it matter which reservoir supplies front or back?

I think it still might matter, the one closet to the booster is usually the front correct?? and even with out a prop valve dont the fronts still activate sooner????

I could be totally wrong, I don't pay much attention to brakes they only slow you down.

I know that is the way the Vette m/c is hooked up, just was wondering if it HAD to be that way.....I'll hook em up that way and find out!

Generally from what Ive seen the rear res is for the front brakes.

Are you doing a prop valve or are you running larger lines to the rear that what goes to the front, so more pressure goes up front?

With your list I can see you still have allot to do... wish I lived close enough to help you out.

You are doing great.:waytogo:

KEEP IT UP!

WE ARE ALL CHEERING FOR YOU MAN!!!

I'll be putting in an inline adjustable valve to the rear brakes, and will plumb the front res. to the rear line as suggested...thanks rusty!

thanks for the backup guys, it really does mean alot, and gives me more ambition to get it done.

Eric my majors are the trans and brakes right now....gotta make sure it go's and stops, then the skidplates, which I have steel for, but gotta fab em up.
I'm going to bring along my undersize spare, and rim, figure we can mount it there if I don't get to it here, and got some tire repair plugs and kit, extra plugs, and 3 cans of ether, a bucket and need to bring a butane torch to light em off. Should I bring my hi-lift, or a bottle jack????

The trans guy said I need a drum, and he's having a hard time finding it today, but he should be able to get one pronto tomorrow. I wish I would have asked him which one for sure, but I assume he means the forward/reverse unit drum. Also said the assembly looked good except for......ready?

The outer seal on the forward apply piston had a cut in it.
I also took him a 4x4 case I aquired to put it all back into.
So I know he wants to head out to Indy tomorrow for the US nats, so I'm sure he'll get on it ASAP.

In other news, I got everything ready as possible to put the trans, doubler, crossmember, driveshafts, shifters, etc back in hopefully without to much hassle.
Also got a couple brake lines and the APV for the rear brakes mounted.
I need to check my Vette m/c for piston bore, and if its not at least 1.125 I think I need to go with a different m/c, from what I hear it's just not enough volume to feed the D60 calipers and K20's on the back. I thought I would try a 99 2500 m/c but don't know if the bolt pattern is the same???

Teck did you use the C3500 unit with the big reservoir then? I've been reading that thread for a while now, seems plenty of people have had good results with a stock system as long as its in good shape. I have a 82 diesel hydroboost unit with pedal too, so I'm going to go with a m/c for that combo....
