yes you do, I think it peaks in the 2-3 k range

The stuff I got was black, was braided but not stainless. Cut to fit the ends were not very expensive either.

found the gates # 605C its 5/16
it has a 2250 psi rating so the rating doesn't need to be all that high

reminds me of fork lift hose lines

Fittings look good. You definitely need higher pressure rating though. I'd try to find some that can handle 2000psi.

This should fit the bill...Russell makes it specifically for PS applications...teflon lined 2500# rating.

might as well get the PS ends too then...are the aluminum adapters rated high enough?

I don't remember for sure what the rating on the ends are.

Stock steering pumps I have tested seem to hover around 1200 - 1400 psi. Some of the better aftermarket stuff a bit higher than that yet so the 2500 psi rating should do ya well.

just checked aeromotives aluminum fittings and they are machined billet stock...should hold up I think:waytogo:

cool, really appreciate the help...lines and fittings ordered!

ughhh....well, another shortcoming on my part...I will be paying about 40$ more for those same parts, but with Russell PS hose....Had to order some fittings for the cylinder and box also...Man I forgot about your H.A. install Teck...live and learn I guess.:dunno:

thats ok Teck....a few more dollars won't really bust my budget now.....too late for that...

Why not just go to your nearest implement dealer and have them make you some hydraulic hoses?

I can give you 2 reasons, well actually three. Thats actually pretty expensive usually unless you have an account with them. My hoses would have been twice the price, without my account.

Second the line Dave ordered is way more flexible, that will be nice.

Third, stainless stuff is pretty.

I think that stuff should hold up fine Dave I have seen more than one rig use it.

I wished I would have used some of that type of line on the blazer when i did the full hydraulic steering. The lines I had made up work fine but very stiff and very bulky.

another reason is servicibility on the trail....reuseable hose ends FTW!

these parts cost about a buck forty for my app. w/10' of hose.

In the Vette thread!...or did you want the PCV setup for the Maiden????
