I assume 4 of each, but it don't say...I asked him to email me some pics of them.

Sorry to hear about the carb issues Dave, but I agree with you, it's a sign....and to quote Rene, EZ-EFI "FTMFW"

I will make that a priority by 2014....gotta have for Moab BB14!

Everytime I've had the quad with the leaky plugs on the bottom, it would fire once on cranking and then it'd just spin over with no fire.

IF jet built the carb, I got a feeling they epoxy those casting plugs. They built the carb on my crew cab and those were covered with epoxy.

thats what I was thinking too Kert, I'll have to find time in the next month and a half to investigate this issue some more...

Hey Dave,
Was it you that used the Flowmaster weld it yourself kit on this truck? I seem to remember you doing that but I can't find it in your thread. If it was you, how did you like it? Would you use it again?

that was some of the first welding I had done on thin metal...and aluminized too. I feel I could do much better now, but its holding up good so far. I'm glad I solidly mounted the pipes, no banging into things to worry about, and its all staying tight.

drove the Maiden on the road in high/high range today, wound it out in 1st and 2nd gears up to the rev limiter of 5500, and when I was about 3500 in 2nd gear it cuts out...feels like its starving for fuel...I keep my foot in it, and about 2 sec later it comes on strong again..like the fuel is there again.
No popping, backfiring, anything like that...all electronics are working while this happens, I'm convinced its fuel shortage....My line is as follows:

3 Walbro pickups in the tank (tank has at least 15 gal in it right now) The pickups are sitting on the bottom of the tank, but not secured in anyway, they are hooked together with fuel rated hose, and are tee'd together up to the factory 3/8 line fitting on the sender unit. From there they feed a .430 i.d. stainless line all the way to the mechanical fuel pump on the engine, and a 3/8 line up to the carb with an inline filter and the modified filter that JET puts in the carb. The fuel inlet at the carb bowl is a .135 needle and seat.
If the needle and seat are the smallest restriction in the fuel system, should it matter that the rest of the system is at least twice the diameter of the .135?

I was suspecting that too though after the trouble on Chewy and Potato Salad Hill last year.

It is as JET set it in their build of the carb...I haven't opened up the carb yet, mostly due to the fact I don't have an airhorn/bowl gasket for it. It seemed to have run quite a length of time for a float problem I was thinking.

I really gotta pull it apart I guess....FI will be forthcoming next year, so maybe I can use this carb on BART!

An in cab fuel pressure gauge would help a ton to diagnose this issue.

True that John....even a cowl mount would help a ton.

f.a.s.t.?

I was talking with Mike (Raiderblaz) on BB12, he uses a Holley MPFI system on his 555, and has had 2 other FI systems on it also. he said the Holley has been the most successful of the 3, and his engine was on the number everytime I heard it!
That truck is badass!

Thats funny Dave, last time you were telling us you were worried about the wiring and complexity for the EZ-EFI and now you are looking at a programmable MPFI system! If you are looking at MPFI systems I would look at XFI or BS3, BS3 has the most capability right now, although you probably don't need that much. Holley does have excellent customer service though from when I called them before about other stuff.

I was looking at msd and they have a system that sits on a normal 4 barrel intake and has all the sensors built in to the throttle body. Just need a power source and a heated o2 sensor and I believe that's all that's required. Worth a look anyway.

MSD's is the Atomic...I was checking that out at the SEMA show last year, slick piece but it got shot down by a few here, I still like the simplicity of it, it is a little pricey for what ya get though.
It looks like a nice setup though.
THat would be a nice setup with an MSD ignition too.
