Actually for the bumper thing I was thinking moving it down a tad (Posted wrong pic:doah:) and modding the bottom of the tailgate and the corner sheet metal. Only bumper mods would be the brackets that mount it to the frame. youve already cut out the tail pan so it isnt an issue. If you like it there then leave it there:waytogo: Its not our truck:D we just like to live our "I would do this" ideas through someone with the cash and tools to do it:haha:

If you made it that way it would dent the tailgate and brake the tail light before the bumper hit, if you were going to try and back up a 5 ft vertical wall anyway...

If I move the bumper up, it won't allow the tailgate to open, right now with the tailgate open flat, it has about 3/4" gap between the tailgate and the top of the bumper...get it? If it was moved any further in towards the body, it would get into the tailpan, or cut off some of the top of the bumper, and also have to hack off the bottom of the quarter panels, or do more bumper mods. The bumper is also mounted by 4 bolts, 2 towards the front of the bumper brackets....those are located right next to the cage tie ins on the frame, so even more mods would have to be done somewhere.....Is that making sense?

Heres a pic for reference...
lol, that sure is a long way to say "leave me the F alone, I'm NOT MOVING THE BUMPER!!" :haha::haha:

Awwww man. The yoga mat jokes :doah: :haha:
:waytogo:

Hey its out there, no reason to leave it alone!:dunno:......:haha:

Have you seen your fuel tank?

Sorry, I couldn't resist......

:pimp:
OK, good point, but that is my focus here, not the bumper....it really is fine with me right where its at!

Cash...barely keeping my head above water here, and I think I may be taking on some water by the time I get back from Kerts...:doah:
Tools...well I have a few, but a few more to do this job would have been nice, just a matter of doing what I can with what I have to work with!:thumb:

Don't forget KNOWLEDGE...without CK5 (and Ryokens build), I wouldn't have thought about doing anything like this...and SKILL...my work leaves alot to be desired, but I'm still learning, and gaining confidence and experience everytime I work on the Maiden!

I do appreciate the ideas, and input guys,
And I am trying to not let the snowball roll away from me here, I've already thought about tearing the corner box supports off, then that would get into the sh!tty quarters, also the front of the box floor, then the front floorpans, then the cab supports up front, next thing you know I'm down for the whole summer.
Maybe if I get bored next winter?

Hey it could happen! You going to BB14 with us MI guys Heath? come on you know you want to!

lol, that sure is a long way to say "leave me the F alone, I'm NOT MOVING THE BUMPER!!" :haha::haha:
:D

haha, hope I didn't come across that way, but I am happy how it is right now, and I'm not really looking to make anymore changes than NEED be!

Hey!

I took that pic :D

And thats Mr.Clean in the passenger seat :waytogo:

Right....Bill was diggin the ride in the Maiden!

hahaha, good one Dwayne! But you know I'm horrible with remembering names, hell if it weren't for Alan telling me your name all the time, I'd never get your attn.

Now that I'm rebuilding the rear tailpan, and body mounts, I can do away with this bodymount crossmember that made me angle cut the top of the tank, and make it square....bringing the gallons back up to a full 30...the target!

Looks good Dave.

That model tank looks nice enough, I think i'd try that for the fuel tank.:D

I do got some of that plastic corrugated?
A little plastic weld, Got it.

fill it up in the bonfire pit instead of the maiden though:eek1:

Then shoot a roman candle at it:whistle:

SH!T Rick, wouldn't that be a bonfire huh?

I'm looking for some 1/2 i.d. fuel line...needs to be submersible rated, only need 2-3 inches. It will be used between the pickup puck and the barbed outlet of the tank.
Where to find it????
None of the local stores have that in stock.

New steel!

3x3 for front body mount crossmember
3x4 for rear tailpan crossmember
1x2 for frame member front to rear, floorpan supports

will also add 1x2 for tank supports front to rear (need to buy more steel)'

The ruler shows 3.5 inches between top of crossmembers (bottom of floor) to the top of the tank...filler cap and lines should be about 2" higher than the top of the tank.

Good luck with that fuel line. When I was looking for some everyone in the parts stores looked at me like I was stupid and said it didn't exist lol
