Dave bought a second set of tires to put the new wheels on.

So Im pretty sure the slot mags are still an option...

Wheels/tires look awesome Dave! Good thing you have a big block in there.
True Jesse, we'll see how the Maiden likes em.

To get those blasted PVCs in the tire I like to stretch them to a vertical oval with a HI-lift, then push the tire down onto it. A little soap or something helps too.
I think that we'll be doing something similar @Kerts shop. He has the same setup on his truck and said it was a breeze the way he did it!

But those slot mags look so good on the maiden...
I'm not getting rid of them Glenn, I've had these beadlocks for a few years now and will probably use them more for rocks than sand or street....although my street tires are looking OLD.

Someone remembers!

I just laid the tire on an angle against a block, pushed them in perpendicular to the tire, and spun them in. I thought it was crazy easy after hearing every one talk about the difficulty of doing it.

Same here, I didn't even use soap.

cool, we'll see how it goes. hopefully its that easy, so if a trail repair has to happen they won't be bad to deal with.

It depends a lot on the tire. On 38" TSLs it was pretty easy. 37" OZ radials were very hard. Thinking about it, 39.5" Bias plys will probably be easy.

That's what I installed them on. My brother's 39.5 TSL bias plys.

we did them at Kerts shop...put the tire on the forklift, put the insert on top of the tire, and held in place by a chain underneath the forks, then lifted the tires up with an overhead hoist and the inserts popped right in place. We did have to drill a hole in the insert so it would clear the valve stem base on the rim though. The insert didn't want to go into position without a place for the valve stem to recess into the insert. we also dumped 12oz of balancing beads in each tire while assembling them.

My 2.5 year old son saw the cover photo of Maiden and kept saying "cool cool cool truck". So your truck is kid approved:waytogo:
