Same old stuff, hoping it holds together for a while this time!
Rebuilt trans....needed to replace the rear planetary unit, a used pump assy, the rear torrington bearing, and new piston seals for good measure...clutches still looked fine.
Also @Greg Ducato cut the convertor open again, and checked, cleaned and rewelded it. I’m also replacing the trans cooler lines, filter, and changing the routing so it filters through the auxilliary filter before returning to the trans. Another couple cans of foaming trans line cleaner w a good blowout before reassembling the filter/ cooler system.
New 6 bolt pattern flywheel, new ubolts for the driveshaft joints, a couple lubelocker gaskets thrown in the diffs, with some fluid changes, and a check of the internals. A longer shifter cable, as it looks like the old one was being stretched over time.
For now I Want to get it moving under its own noise, then rebuild the steering box (leaking like a drunken bastard)...being able to get this heavy bitch moving around on her own again will be good for now...maybe more upgrades coming later this summer.
Then I got scheduled maintenance on the Rav, then start a bumper to bumper check, and service on the 06 Duramax.

Truth!
I have a bunch of JD lawn tractors I need to thin out too.
And I just bought a Exmark commercial zero turn that needs some work toget it working well. It does the job but the cooling system needs help and flat tire, hydraulic tuning ( is that even a thing) its grabby not smooth.

I took off the 203 rangebox PTO cover to flip it, to allow the fill port to be higher, as it was there was only a few ounces of gear lube in there with the port on the bottom. The gears were covered well with lube, even for not having been run in a year and a half. Found a bit of metal grit on the magnet, and glitter in the fluid, so I opened it up. A visual inspection revealed nothing...gears look good, shift fork, sliders, looked good, and the bearings were smooth in operation, so back together it went. I got the doubler installed yesterday, and need to finish the install of crossmember and front cradle supports, shifters, new auto shifter cable, driveshafts, etc. I put the fill port on Kerts cover up to get more lube in this time.

Gotta ask.. how did you get it up there Dave?

That small amount of shavings doesn't look concerning to me... I've seen worse for sure..

May be from the shift fork getting worn in if this is a fairly new setup....
As long as the bearings feel good and the shifter slides easy, call it good and send it !

Got. a trans jack for the lift Dean. I used a motorcycle lift jack before I got the new barn and lift. You can probably guess which I prefer.
Frank, the internals of the 203 are original, and looked good, I was guessing maybe an internal piece of a bearing I couldn’t see or I may have put too long of a bolt in the doubler adapter in a location where it may have got into a gear, but no real marks showing that,it’s all gear and cast iron, so yeah it’s flyin like a rat!

Got a lot less parts on the floor now!
All cradle supports and rear crossmember are in.
Anti wrap cross member back in
Removed oil cooler and lines
Flushed the cooler and trans cooler w that foam cleaner in a can.
Still a lot do
