Why don't you want the 6.2? I love mine. If you are not at least running fuel injection on that gas engine I wouldn't bother. The 6.2 is extremely reliable offroad.

So it's possible that I might have scored a front axle from a fsj with the spring under setup.. Talk me outa it.. I was going to call deaver for my custom springs and try to bring the lift down to 2-3 inches and maybe a smaller tire say 33-35..? Mostly trail and desert scooting.. Frees up steering also. Probably help wheel hop and more up travel without inverting the springs.. Frizzle did it right? Same idea.. Probably will do the rear later as well. Whatcha think am I crazy

I thought full size jeeps were not full size? Aren't they considered a midsize truck? I don't know if the axle width is the same?

J10-j20 jeeps are full width that deal fell through for the axle, and the 6.2 is committed to a friend of mine who helped me renovate my house a year ago and it'll help him out.

My 350 with the qjet runs plenty good enough at angles for me to be happy. I don't plan on getting to crazy with this truck so it's going to see less rocks and more sand and trails and street. I wanted something that's reliable, fun to tote the boy around in and fun to noon around in as well.

I drive the blazer open headers and it made a few things glaringly obvious I have been having carburation issues I think lean side on primaries and rich when secondaries open.. Causing there to be a giant lack of power everywhere.. And the cam is so small it's not heard with open exhaust.. So I'm glad this is coming apart to become something a lot better and matched...

Well dangit... I did a cold compression test and it ranged from 100-120 psi.. Not sure what the compression ratio is but I was expecting more.

Plans have changed!

So after finding out my 350 is a dog and how much I would have to put into it.. along with it having to be smog legal, I decided to go ahead and see if this 6.2 will live, according to the internets this is a decent engine and will live at the 250-300hp for a reasonable amount of time as long as my block and crank etc are good.

As long as it runs(no indications it wont) I am going to turn the pump up some, find some banks manifolds(I want a/c) an hx40wII and run it.. I really dont care what the numbers are as long as it goes decent and gets decent mileage im good with that..

I dont know what the condish of the th400 is so thats an unknown, I might swap a nv4500 in at somepoint or a 700r4.. Or I might just rebuild the 400.. I know for a fact I can build one that will last behind this..for around 700..

I cleaned all the rat crap out of it this weekend, and spent more time tracing wires, Im decent at wiring so Ill redo the stuff that was cut.

Ill have to convert the GP circuit into manual operation because to much of it is missing. Which is fine with me because 60% of the year its 80+ degrees so I wont have to use it much anyway.

To test fire this beast my plan is to get my two batteries in series, hook them to the starter, then hook only 12v to the GP terminal, fuel shutoff solenoid and starter solenoid..
I guess a remote starter switch should work to activate the solenoid..

Anyone got any tips? I was gonna toss 5 gal in the tank or run a hose to the lift pump..

is that a polished Eddy down in there?

round headlights rule...

Yep a buddy was getting rid of it so yes it is polished. And round lives forever!

Not yet, I wouldn't mind sometime. For now I'm trying to fix all the little crap.. I have many things on my list to do. Reseal tcase, all front bushings and steering need to be replaced. My rear pinion seal is leaking bad, I need tires. So it might be a while before I drive this farther than local.

Decided to cover up the rust and it turned into a full blown paint job! I know I have a lot of bodywork to do but I'll be replacing the fenders and right rear panel with new stuff. For now at least it's one color.

Also got tuning on carb almost perfect, dang I dunno how I did this without a wideband before!
