So HP.. well since I built an engine nearly identical in the past and it made 238whp going through a th350/np205 HO72, I bet that was every bit of 300hp at the crank.. It ran really well but died off up top past 5k..
This motor needs to be able to spin easily and willingly.. I dont want to have something that is lazy up top.. down low is fine cause I got gears..
SO here is my proposed plan.
X4270h-3 cam this is a little larger than the XE268H, it has more lift and 1 degree more LSA
.015 head gaskets which is what I used to calc my 9.0:1 compression ratio
I have a MSD pro billet and Crane HI-6 ignition to spark things up.. sorry no Vac advance.
Ill run 16-20 initial and cut off the mech advance to 36-38 total if it will take it.. remember crap heads.. needs lots of timing.
And leave the rest of the stuff I already have on the motor,
RPM air gap - Polished -5+ hp gain
Thorley Tri Y also polished +50 hp
holley 700 3 circuit, modified not a dominator.. weird.. Ill have to take some pics.
2200+- converter
th350 transgo shift kit
Beer(rolling rock) +175 at least
SO that should put out at least 475hp.. at the dirt.. or in real terms I hope for 300-330hp.. but from 3500 up it should be a screamer..
